...Too apply for this job, that I don't have the exact qualifications for...

Ok, this may be my dream job, but they are asking for 2 grade B A-levels. I don't have any A-levels, however I do have a very good module pass from the open university in the specified field. Would this be enough? It's an apprenticeship position so I guess my previous experiences show I can study and work at the same time...
Does anyone think I stand the smallest of chances? I haven't worked in the area before but it would be an absolute dream

Speaking as someone who recruits people at this sort of level, it's worth applying because the OU module should be taken as at least equivalent to the a-levels. Gaps on the cv are fine, just tell the factual truth (though without turning it into a sob story, your prospective employers don't need to hear about the dv&abuse - well done for getting through that, getting your studies on track and getting your life turned around though - that shows strength of character and determination that would be an asset to any employer)

Make it easy for the recruiters: They will have dozens of applications and a list of criteria they need. Your personal statement should give lots of examples of things you have done that show you can do all the things listed in the job description in the same order so that they can go tick tick tick down the list and hopefully shortlist you.

Go for it, but do explicitly state on your application/cover letter that you don't have A-levels but that you hope that they will take your OU modules into account as alternative qualifications of equal or higher value.

Of course you must apply - you'll kick yourself if you don't.

Always put a positive spin on any apparently negative bit of history...
"As I didn't have the opportunity to take A levels, I took the OU module which as you will know is a higher level. It meant six months' unpaid study but it was worth it. It proved my ability and determination to succeed, and now I am ready to take your job"

It is very rare you get a candidate with everything you want. So yes just apply.

And ask yourself this: would a man ever ask that question?
