I've been a little depressed by the threads re ungrateful children and presents, so I thought I'd share this story. Today, my beautiful, clever, amazing nephew, who is 15.5 yrs with severe CP and no speech sent his first ever, unassisted email. We as a family clubbed together to buy him the keyboard and 'mouse' he needed.

The email took 35mins, and he sent it to my DH:

Dear Uncle [DH name]

Now I don't have to wait for Dbro/ Dad to rip you when Hotspurs lose!

Ha ha

D Nephew xx

DH has printed it out and says it is 'in a frame going in the office on Monday.' His English suffers when he's emotional, bless him!

Loved on another thread where op's ds who has ( I think) ASD. He recognised something in a situation where he would normally speak out but he stayed quiet this time.... Op says it made her xmas. Anyone else see that and can explain it better?
