I'm still thinking about mine.

I definitely want to cook from scratch much more often.

Try to spend more of my money locally rather than at bigger businesses when I can afford it.

And get to yoga more often.

You?

Not given it much serious thought but weightloss is going to be the main thing.

Baby number 2 due in January so I really want to sort my eating habits out. I was 2st heavier this booking appointment than I was with DS.

I'm going to be off all of next year on ML and I want to make it count. I want to make the most of the city I live in (lots of free / cheap stuff to do) and I want to make the most of having some time with my kids especially DS who will be almost in nursery this time next year. In spring and summer I am going to try to make sure we dont have a single day just sitting in (we've been doing far too much of that lately)

BallsforEarings · 23/12/2014 21:24

Goals for next year:

Double up client base to at least 100
Double up staff numbers to at least 14 (inc. office staff)
Exercise regularly (like I used to!!)
Eat less shit (like I used to!!)

Rainbow · 23/12/2014 21:29

Lose weight, spend more time with my children x

Hatespiders · 23/12/2014 21:53

I must give up cheese and chocolate Sad, as we've discovered they both trigger my vertigo, a sort of painless migraine type of thing. (Vestibular migraine)
I'm gutted and when/if I get to heaven, there will be a huge pile of Camembert, Stilton and Wispa bars, not to mention buttered crumpets waiting for me.
I must also try to walk a bit every day. And lose weight. And eat more fruit & veg. (Ha ha as if...!)

magimedi · 23/12/2014 22:13

Last year my resolution was to swim 12 lengths twice a week.

I now swim 40 lengths 3 x a week.

I am so bloody proud of myself - it is the only NY resolution I've ever kept to.

For 2015 my resolution is to join a choir & sing!

And the second one is to be a good MIL & grandmother - as I am going to be a D (I hope) GM nest summer. So excited!

Dwerf · 24/12/2014 00:18

Oh, let's hope Magimedi. I love being a grandmother. My masochistic dd wants another!

PollyIndia, not all big things. I think one of them is going to be sort out proper curtain poles for my room. Won't tell you how many years long they have been up on nails temporary fixings

PollyIndia · 24/12/2014 12:19

Dwerf, you sound like me! Ok, I like this idea. I am going to write 40 things to do before October.

callamia · 24/12/2014 12:28

I'm going to be more organised. I've got through his year in a bit of a wing and a prayer, but it's unsustainable. I'm exhausted and feeling overwhelmed.

This is going to involve a massive clear out, a regimented time for putting things away and better use of my diary. Cross your fingers for me.

perplexedpirate · 24/12/2014 12:45

Look after myself a LOT better than I do now.
Change work pattern to spend more time with DS.
Keep up and extend dancing (v excited about that one!).
Save up and move house.

whippetwoman · 24/12/2014 12:55

I only had one last year which was read 50 books and by the end of the year I will have read 81 so yay.
Next year I will aim for 100.
Less iPad/phone time too.

DialsMavis · 24/12/2014 13:00

Appreciate the precious time I get with DC more, without being so stressed
Decide if our lives would be happier or not without P living with us :-(
Finish losing weight once and for all: I am always yoyoing with the final pesky stone

jammygem · 24/12/2014 13:01

To stop smoking and to stop biting my nails - I'm putting £15 a week (the money I'd save from not smoking) into a jar and if I complete both goals by the end of next year then I'm using the money for a holiday - if I only manage one then half of it goes on a mini break, the rest to charity, and if I don't manage either then it all goes to charity.

owlborn · 24/12/2014 13:02
  1. To learn to cook from scratch properly and cut back on ready meals and take out.

  2. To get back on top of finances and start saving properly so we can have a proper cushion.

  3. To manage my mental health proactively and to hope for no major episodes (manic or depressive) and no time off work.

  4. To get more regular exercise, probably by taking a class of some kind - I was good at this when we had more money but I cut back on non-essentials when DH lost his job and convinced myself I'd be fine running around the park by myself. I wasn't.

After that I am stopping as I am trying to be realistic and not make promises I can't at least try and keep. Grin

perplexedpirate · 24/12/2014 13:17

Thought you were saving up for an actual cushion at first glance then owl.

Nomama · 24/12/2014 13:23
  1. Treat: find a class, craft or camera
  2. Treat: find a class, exercise walking
  3. Treat: bake a lot more
AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 24/12/2014 13:50

2015 will be the year I get my BMI down to a healthy figure. I'm in the overweight figures and I want to lose weight for health and appearance. I'm fed up of feeling down about my weight (I probably need to lose 1.5 stone) and only I can do anything about it. I owe it to my 1 year old DS - I had gestational diabetes and my blood sugars are still not right (well they weren't at last check 5 months ago) - I don't want to risk getting diabetes.

HicDraconis · 24/12/2014 14:11

I managed to achieve all of my 2014 goals (I only had 3 of them though!)

Positivity (trying not to have "no" as my default to everything)
Lose weight (lost 14kg)
Get my yellow belt (went through yellow, advanced yellow and green!)

In 2015 I am working on:
Target weight (still have 6kg to go and after Christmas it'll be 10!)
Get to Advanced green belt
More patience with my children / Positive Parenting
Being better at keeping in touch with friends and family

The first 2 should be straightforward but the second two might be a bit more challenging!

PesoPenguin · 24/12/2014 14:25

Mine is to be more positive and there was another but I cant remember Confused

TheSporkforeatingkyriarchy · 24/12/2014 14:59

My main goal is to make the house more happy and less source of frustration/rage so I'm currently doing some reading to help myself create more concrete resolutions and game plan.

So far (along with tons of googling) I've read Marie Kondo's The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up which DP and I are using as a guide to clear things out and organize in my hopes that doing so will drop the stress around here (today I'm doing CDs so I can listen to music while I work and maybe the DVDs later...) and I hope to continue it throughout the year with everyone on the Kondo thread]. Ive also read [[https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6398634-the-happiness-project?from_search=true Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project and am now halfway through the sequel Happier at Home and filling up a little notebook with notes of plans and ideas for the new year.

BakewellSlice · 24/12/2014 15:15

Spork you are further along than me, i've read the books and I 'm waiting for the ideas to germinate into action!

lilttlemarvel · 24/12/2014 16:20
  1. Be more positive - even if I have to fake it.
  2. Spend much less time on the internet
  3. Cook more fish - get really good at it - go on fish cooking courses
  4. Drink less alcohol/ eat less sugar
  5. Do physio exercises and/or pilates daily

Hopefully 1-5 will all lead to losing weight, getting fitter, being happier, being more productive...2014 hasn't been a good year for these things!

TenMinutesLate · 28/12/2014 21:17

Walk round the park for 30 minutes every morning after school drop off, Clear my head and just breathe for that time;
Organise my time better, which means deactivating or massively reducing my time on facebook and the crappy Daily Mail (it annoys me so much that I read that crap);
Either read more books (I have about 50 unread books on my shelf, and a few hundred more on my Amazon wish list) or crack on with my blog....not time for both;
And the usual, be a better Mum, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Friend, be a better Me :-)

BingBongMerrilyOnHigh · 28/12/2014 21:32
  1. To take more care of my skin.
  2. To eat what I want, when I want. But only until I feel just full. And never to eat anything I don't enjoy (which is a lot, and mostly includes highly processed crap).
  3. To exercise more. Am an ok weight but flabby as hell after losing a fairly hefty load of pregnancy weight. I'd like to lose a bit more but mostly I want to be toned again.
  4. To read more, and more variety of books. Am getting a Kindle for my birthday. I already have the first book picked out.
  5. To go to sleep earlier & not stay up on my tablet/phone. It will probably help my energy levels.

Actually, that's one really. Look after myself better & value myself more.

Postchildrenpregranny · 28/12/2014 21:43

Not to buy ANY clothes . Unless a replacement for something that dies. Or I absolutely cannot resist. ( I am allowed a pair of flat summer sandals and a pair of really good jeans if and when I lose that final 6lbs))

UngratefulMoo · 28/12/2014 21:56

To get more sleep

(DD is 16mo and a dreadful sleeper. Regularly wakes 4-5 times a night. DH and I are having a summit to discuss the best sleep training techniques we can try, starting Jan 1st. Something must be done!)
