To think that schools ought to have broken up for Christmas by now? (Lighthearted)

I am on holiday. DH is on holiday. DS is on holiday. DD still has school tomorrow and Tuesday! Why? I am in holiday mode and am paranoid that the alarm will go off tomorrow and I will wonder why I set it and go back to sleep.

Surely all sensible schools broke up no later than last Friday?

yes, ds2 is in mon/tue this week...and not even a half day on tue!

I'm in North Lanarkshire too - the holidays are ridiculously short! Only 8 school days off, my kids are knackered. It's making me very grumpy

West Lothian here too so not finishing until 3:15 on Tuesday.
Not back until Thursday 8th Jan though, would much rather be off next week doing exciting pre-Christmassy activities rather than mooching about for days & days after New Year

We're in Glasgow City, broke up 2.30 on Friday (a whole half an hour earlier than normal!), back on the 5/1/15.

I wouldn't be sending DD in unless she really wanted to go e.g. for a party or similar.

I knew this thread would be about West Lothian, and agree better to be off before Christmas than after. DD not happy! Oh well I'm at work till Wednesday so at least I don't need to worry about her. I don't understand the thinking behind it though.

It does seem a bit pointless. Are they seriously going to get any useful work out of the children on Monday and Tuesday?

I would love the dc to be in school for another 3 2 days - I am so behind on so many things and it would be great to have another couple of child free days!

Not sure the dc would agree - at least until it comes to time to go back to school !
