You do not make guacamole by wizzing into a wall paper paste

Had lunch round a friends earlier. Was nice apart from the guac. She had obviously put it all in a blender and wizzed it to death and it came out like a thick paste. I ate it through gritted teeth pretending to say 'mmmm lovley', when it wasn't.

Seriously aibu to think to need to mash it or just not bother?

as if I threw the guac in the bitches face!

Sorry, did you say this was a friend?

Xmas Shock
SuperFlyHigh · 11/12/2014 17:51

And now you are calling her a bitch. What a lovely and ungrateful friend you sound!

CallMeExhausted · 11/12/2014 17:55

This thread has prompted me to make guac... but I am going to use neither whizz nor wallpaper paste.

isseywithcats · 11/12/2014 17:55

i like smooth guac but i work at tgi fridays and we make it chunky there

MaidOfStars · 11/12/2014 18:19

Oh no, guac should be chunky. You need to taste the chilli/seasoning on the outside, then have it cool off with the clean avocado lump interiors (does that make sense?).

Whizzed together, everything is a homogeneous mash. No delicious changes in flavour as you chew.

SuperFlyHigh · 11/12/2014 18:21

I don't care re my guac by the way smooth as a baby's bum or chunky all good with Super!

Pelicangiraffe · 11/12/2014 18:22

Recipe please

Summerisle1 · 11/12/2014 18:27

This really does need to win "first world problem" of the week. Ditch the bitch! And her sub-standard whizzed guacamole.

BloodyUserName · 11/12/2014 18:33

If you can't talk on a forum about how your friends home made food tastes shit, where can you? Op has the decency to not act like a twat to her mate but wants confirmation that the world hates over whizzed avocado mulch. I happen to like it smooth and spicy but that's my thing - still don't think you're being unreasonable though.

BloodyUserName · 11/12/2014 18:34

Plus I think the bitch was tongue in cheek, not an actual thing.

SuperFlyHigh · 11/12/2014 18:36

Bloody I don't think I've called any of my friends irl here bitches tho... Confused

BloodyUserName · 11/12/2014 18:42

Superflyhigh-I've just re-read it with my real life eyes on. Actually it is out of order to call a "friend" that. Now a friends friend who tags along to everything.......(harks to own issues)

Riverland · 11/12/2014 18:49

I've got a feeling the bitch cba to make guac for her dear pal, and just bought a tub of supermarket gloop.

Littlef00t · 11/12/2014 19:06

I'm still gutted someone didn't try to feed you pee and wallpaper paste Xmas Sad

SuburbanReindeer · 11/12/2014 19:09

Maybe the "friend" did just that, little.

Here's hoping, anyway Xmas Smile

chouxfleur · 11/12/2014 19:14

sunflower49 Marks and Spencer do cream-free guacamole. I quite agree that there is no place for cream in guacamole.

sunflower49 · 11/12/2014 19:42

THANK YOU chouxfleur ! I go there once in a blue moon but I will make it there more frequently now I know that.

Tbh I don't bother looking half the time now, when I see guacamole as I have become so sick of finding out I can't eat it. I can make my own, but It's never quite up to scratch.

Allalonenow · 11/12/2014 19:49

I like it chunky, I bash it a bit with a wooden spoon.

YuleStoryBro · 11/12/2014 23:22

I know loads of women that call each other, "Bitches". Have you not seen RHONJ?! Xmas Wink

furcoatbigknickers · 11/12/2014 23:24

I had friends round today for lunch, not nice. Next time don't go.

Soamiasnob · 12/12/2014 08:09

Gosh that whole line was me reenacting what I thought some of you were acting like I had done.

She's a lovely friend, just isn't the beat cook

Turquoisetamborine · 12/12/2014 16:43

I make guacamole by pounding it with the end of a rolling pin. Lovely texture.

The nicest I ever had was made by a Texan friend. I could have eaten it all day as well as his beef skirt fajitas. But he left England (sob).

abigamarone · 12/12/2014 16:47

I think half this thread are being unreasonable for referring to it as 'guac'.

whataloadofoldshite · 12/12/2014 17:00

Completely unhelpful but just sat smiling at similarity to tomato and olive threads. Xmas Smile

LuisSuarezTeeth · 12/12/2014 19:51
