Had lunch round a friends earlier. Was nice apart from the guac. She had obviously put it all in a blender and wizzed it to death and it came out like a thick paste. I ate it through gritted teeth pretending to say 'mmmm lovley', when it wasn't.

This thread has prompted me to make guac... but I am going to use neither whizz nor wallpaper paste.

i like smooth guac but i work at tgi fridays and we make it chunky there

Oh no, guac should be chunky. You need to taste the chilli/seasoning on the outside, then have it cool off with the clean avocado lump interiors (does that make sense?).

Whizzed together, everything is a homogeneous mash. No delicious changes in flavour as you chew.

I don't care re my guac by the way smooth as a baby's bum or chunky all good with Super!

Tbh I don't bother looking half the time now, when I see guacamole as I have become so sick of finding out I can't eat it. I can make my own, but It's never quite up to scratch.
