To ask if you believe in witchcraft?

My exes mum was known as a " White Witch". In other words she was very into woo and practiced as a Chrystal healer, could sense energy, was psychic and was into all the new age bull shit. Vegan etc , etc.

I think a large amount of this is bullshit however there are a few incidents which made me think. One involved her son. He was v abusive and when we split up I felt very low. At the time she was thousands of miles away in the USA. She phoned me up in ters ( she had no idea we gad split up) and told me she knew how low I felt and tha I should hang on in there ( I felt suicidal) she said she could feel my pain. Wierd as last time we met I fine.

I don't agree with the way she raised my ex ( brought him weed for his bday etc) and a lot of what she believed in ( and how she enforced those beliefs) was questionable but I do think there was something a bit strange about her. ( my dad who is the straightest man on the planet even thought she'd put some kind of spell on me at one point -- although that was probably due more to her abusive son.)

My own feeling is that Wicca has some power but that any attempt to manipulate nature to ones own ends is not to be trusted.

Am I barmy???!!!

See that's what I mean about manipulation/the power of the mind.

They were just a pack of mass produced cards...no different to a pack of playing cards.

Do none of you ever get that "feeling"? like you just KNOW? I certainly think the person OP is talking about sounds bonkers, but a few times I have just known things. When my ex cheated on me, I got a feeling in the pit of my stomach that night, I just knew (he had no form and there was no leading up to it etc). He confessed all the next day. When my aunt found out she was pregnant (unplanned) I just knew, same when my ex's mum called on skype to announce she was pregnant. Both times they called to tell me/us the news and I just blurted out "you're pregnant aren't you" before they had even started talking. There has been other things as well.

Yup, it's called instinct. It's pretty damn good. But, it's not right all the time.

Yes overslept but that's the law of averages.

You will have forgotten the thousands of feelings you had and were wrong about.

We're all bound to get them right once in a while.

Worra I don't generally go around shouting "are you pregnant?" to female family members in the hope that sooner or later I'll be right Grin

I don't know, worra, I'd be inclined to give it a little more credit than that!!

I'm sorry you were cheated on, overslept, but there were probably subliminal signs from your ex which your subconscious picked up.
However the bottom line has to be 'we none of us know'.

Being a "White Witch" isn't being into "voo doo" OP! Being Wiccan is a religion. I wonder how this thread would would have went if you had said "my ex MIL is catholic/Protestant/Jewish" etc.

I've had it happen to me. I found a note with some strange hairs stuck on it, reading, come upstairs, I'm in the shower. Obviously, I had a blowout about it, to be given the explanation that it was written for a nephew. WTF

An outright lie is an outright lie. You don't have to be there with CCTV and a microphone.

Witchcraft is woo.

Nobody is psychic but I do think some people are more intiutive/perceptive than others along with being very good at "reading" people.

Yes I believe in witchcraft/black magic. It's a social hobby of poor people (mainly women) in South East Asian countries. Many of the so called witch doctors in these countries take money from vulnerable women and abuse them/blackmail them. However, there are also real witch doctors who have connections with different more powerful beings and they can cause a lot of upset with black magic.

I have no knowledge of Wiccan etc in the UK, but I have experienced African witchcraft

I would have said I was non-woo, but I saw stuff I cant explain to this day. I think I believe its all suggestive/power of the mind etc...but that itself is not to be underestimated. Its pretty 'magic' that people can do stuff like that, even if you discount unnatural forces

And what 'different more powerful beings' would these people have connections with then?

Hatespiders There were no signals at all, in fact there is no way it could have been planned as he did not know the person, did not know he was going there etc. We didn't live together then so I didn't even know he was out until I got the feeling. Then I felt really sick. Left him an offline message. It wasn't like I suspected, I just knew Confused. We stayed together 5 years after that, he never cheated again.

Why do you believe in black magic About, out of interest?

Being 'more intuitive/perceptive' is pretty much what 'psychic' is though, isn't it?!...it boils down to much the same thing

Again, by belifs are immature/not set in stone, but I think are intuition wad a much stronger 'sense' previously...but is underused, and now we are quicker to dismiss it as 'coincidence' etc

I know I often get really strong gut reactions to people. I usually dismiss it as 'judging a book...'. But usually its correct, and it makes me wonder

worra, do you mean instinct? Because I think what it really is comes down to experience. It's just everything that you know about life so far, informing you about a new puzzle. We call it instinct. But, we could just as well call it experience.

dora can you explain your post of 2300hr?

Alisvolatpropiis · 06/12/2014 23:18

Generally speaking psychics are meant to be rather more than "perceptive". You know, speak to the dead, tell people's futures etc. that is of course, all fakery, lies and manipulation.
