...to think it is just antisocial to have a letterbox like this.

So tonight I was out stuffing leaflets through doors to advertise a Christmas event. People have all sorts of letterboxes and, although I can see they probably prevent draughts, I am not overly fond of the ones with bristles.

However, towards the end of my patch I met an absolute brute. I was already a bit leery because they had a sign up saying they had a large dog. But it wasn't the dog but the bastard letterbox that snapped shut and trapped my finger. Honest to God I had to struggle to get my hand free - I was beginning to think the damn dog had got me.

It broke the skin slightly and the end of my finger is bruised and was quite numb for the best part of an hour.

Who on earth fits a monster like that? Poor postman I say.

So - AIBU to suggest you try out your own letterboxes some time just to see how user-friendly they are?

Every year when I deliver Christmas cards I think how hard it must be for the poor Posties out there wrestling with letter boxes.

Junk mail though I could live without.

I've got a box attached to my wall right next to my front door for post as I have dogs.
People still faff around trying to fit stuff through my letter boxConfused

It's karma for putting crap through the letter box.
