To wish Christmas shoppers wouldn't head into town right in the middle of morning rush hour

Fair enough, some of them have good reasons and other pressing things to do that day.

But AIBU to think that surely some of the hundreds of extra cars on the road, making it hell trying to get into work on time, could just wait an extra hour and let people get into work first?

Same applies to rush hour driving. It's a PITA

Rather than expecting random people to moderate their behaviour for you why don't you moderate yours. Leave the house earlier to get to work and enjoy a cuppa or something or organize with your boss to go in early and leave a bit earlier . Nobody should tell somebody else what time they can and can't leave the house to do shopping. Your life is no more or less important than theirs. This is causing a problem for you then it up to you to solve it

If there is a facility for general use then whatever the original intention for opening earlier was you can't stop other people using it at that time as well

Err I don't think she really expected people to stop going shopping..
It's called being mildly annoyed at busy traffic and having slight moan.
Maybe she needed to put "lighthearted" in the heading.

Op yanbu. I got flamed once for saying that I wished shoppers would try to avoid rush hour on the metro. I got 'how dare you demand...'I didn't - I just wished.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/12/2014 08:29

Feelingunsupported you think you're king of the world eh? Wink

feelingunsupported · 06/12/2014 08:29

And all this 'go to work early' bollocks - of course the op can change shifts / childcare / drop offs etc... if only life was so easy!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 06/12/2014 08:31

I'm sure all the flamers have probably had a mild whinge about busy traffic at some point in their lIves, without meaning that they expect others to change their lifestyles.

Too fecking right fanjo

(Decides that fanjo should be blessed with polishing my crown, making my relaxing cuppa that I have time for before my shift and ironing my magazine) ;-)

I just wish they would all leave the city centre on weekdays between 12-2.

It's a real pain in the arse trying to get lunch with so many bloody dawdlers getting in the way.

bakingaddict · 06/12/2014 09:35

I get pissed off with loads of things myself, people who just stop randomly in thronging Tube stations to look at maps or stand still on the wrong side of the escalator but i'm gracious enough not to think they shouldn't be there. It's just life and you have to relax a bit when it happens
