It's not just me, surely? My friends and family all have beautiful tasteful matching decorations and colour schemes and I'm the only one who loves tat and tinsel and coloured lights. It's colourful and sparkly and Christmassy. Where are my people?

Tits, not sure why you have resurrected s zombie thread to say that but it has unreasonably annoyed me. I'd be so cross if someone nicked one if my decorations, there are a few that are very precious to me.

I have two trees. A gaudy, colourful, mismatched one for the children and my own two colour, plain bauble one...which I try to make look like the ones in department stores!

batshitlady · 05/10/2015 17:50

with you OP.. I like them jam packed with tinsel etc. .Tasteful is bollocks! If Christmas can't be camp what's the world coming to?

FattyNinjaOwl · 05/10/2015 17:55

Nope yanbu. I love tat and glittery crap all over at Christmas. Tinsel gets put everywhere here. Around door frames, over the fireplace, in my hair Grin. My DCs decorate the tree and it stays how they decorated it.

Im one of those who love it all one or two coloured. Red and gold or maybe blue and silver Smile but thats just because we had that at home growing up and I loved the whole "what should the colour theme be this year?"

My OH on the other hand would just mix it all up and add multicoloured lights (I dont like them at all, sorry).

There is no right or wrong though, if you like it then it is perfect.

I agree with Glo. Not sure why you resurrected the thread or why you admitted to doing something so strange.

I have baubles with a great deal of sentiment attached to them. The ones my dc bought for me, the ones which belonged to both my grandma and my sil while still alive, ones bought on key anniversaries and whilst travelling etc. They mean a great deal to me.

I'm on the app and it came up in active threads so apologies if I didn't check the date I assumed it was erm active...Confused

I did also point out that this is a silly thing I have done since I was a kid and I the people I do it too are people like my sisters or my best friend, of course they know I do it! It's an inside joke, we all spend a lot of time at each other's houses, they see their bauble (probably one that I put on their tree the year before) hanging on mine, we do a silly "OH WHAT A LOVELY BAUBLE YOU HAVE TITS!" Thing, it's just one of those things we/I do.
I'm not talking about going into someone's house and robbing one of the precious 50 year old baubles that great aunt Mary left them in her will or anything, they're supermarket, plastic balls that get transferred around our family friends circle by me.

I didn't explain well and I'm sorry but it really isn't like you've perceived it to be. BlushBlushBlush

I think that sounds like a fun tradition! As long as everyone is in on the joke Wink

I like a nice mismatched tree myself - ours has got, or rather will have, a Christmassy gecko on it this year! It will compliment the Christmassy Eeyore beautifully...
