I plan on going christmas shopping on saturday at 8am as soon as the shops in town open. AIBU to think everyone has the same idea as me? i'm going to end up killing someone
I just want to go have a nice christmas shop! this is the first year I'm able to do this! This is also the 2nd year I've heard of Black Friday over here! why is everything so commercialised & americanized?!

Not me! I'm done Xmas shopping wise and it's almost all been done on the internet.

You sound like you have a solid plan. You will be fine. I would get the stuff for other people first, it sounds more straightforward and you can get it out of the way, then do the stuff you have to try on. Good luck. Take a clipboard with Trading Standards / EBOLA CRISIS TEAM / Fair Pay Commission or something like that printed on it if you want people to get out of your way...

I was going to go tomorrow, took Fri off work but now got Mon off too. Am going to look at what I've already bought tomorrow and write a proper list so I don't buy it all again, do what I can online tomorrow (when kids at school so I can get on the computer) then shop in town on Monday .One year close to Christmas we went to Cribbs mall near Bristol, it was so busy the traffic gridlocked for several hours so I vowed never to do that again

I'm shampooing the bedroom carpets. So there will at least 1 person not in a shop. Come to Nottingham and fill my vacant slot!

Another one surprised anyone actually goes to the shops for Christmas shopping . 95% of mine is online, I only buy stuff in store if it's cheaper, unavailable online or I can't be arsed waiting for it to be delivered tbh. I wouldn't dream of braving shopping this weekend, it'll be a nightmare! A lot of stores have extended their Black Friday deals for the whole weekend and as you say, most peoples pay day... Good luck you'll need it.

Do people in England take Friday off for this? Surely most people work? I don't know anyone taking advantage of Black Friday or this weekend. I think it sounds hellish and can't imagine that it will be easy to find what you want. Won't they just discount their tat rather than stuff you want to buy?

Ds1. (Plus pants for myself )

Also, I hate black friday! so americanised! We're going to start doing thanksgiving soon
