Pound shop?

slightlyworriednc · 23/11/2014 12:29

For playing Cinderella?

noblegiraffe · 23/11/2014 12:31

You're right, a princess would have staff to clean the floors.

zeezeek · 23/11/2014 12:33

Bloody hell! Is there a pretend DIY set in shades of blue on the shelf opposite for a Perfect Prince?

Floggingmolly · 23/11/2014 12:33

There'll be a shedload of posters along in a minute to say how they'd have no problem with that at all - for a boy. Give it a minute...

Thebodynowchillingsothere · 23/11/2014 12:33

Oh my good God.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 23/11/2014 12:34

Yeah, pound shop!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 23/11/2014 12:35

Of course not! There's green in there. It needs to be all pink

elQuintoConyo · 23/11/2014 12:36

Well, as it happens, my 4yo DS...

Nah, can't lie!

I actually don't care that it has princess written all over it. As long as no one grows up actually thinking they're a real princess, when they're not, is ok by me.

Perhaps Kate n Will could buy one for Prince George?

ditavonteesed · 23/11/2014 12:36

thatd never get my floors clean, i found it better to buy the princess a proper dustpan and brush from wilkos.

LittleBearPad · 23/11/2014 12:38

I don't know many princesses admittedly but it looks a little flimsy for day to day use. They'd need something a bit more robust for the staff to use I think.

StickyProblem · 23/11/2014 12:39

I keep telling DD that being a princess would be a crap life, this just proves it!

formerbabe · 23/11/2014 14:19

Ha ha...my dd had this! She begged me for it! It has since been binned! In my defence, my ds also had a broom set when he was little!

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 23/11/2014 14:24

My bil brought this for my dd I was very Hmm but she absolutely loves it. Blush

itsaknockout · 23/11/2014 14:33

princess is the brand.do you think only princes can eat canned fish?

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 23/11/2014 14:36

My boys have both had Hoover's and brushes over the years. That's normal role play stuff. But cleaning sets in princess pink in the girls bit? Yuk!

Just watch

Now you've put this on Mumsnet, there'll be a mad rush of 'right on' Mnetters buying this for their sons...

And endless threads on Boxing day saying "AIBU because the PILs think it's only for girls" Grin

MrsPiggie · 23/11/2014 14:55

Perfect present I would say. It's high time bloody entitled little princesses learnt what life is like for the rest of us mere commoners.

OwlWearingSunglasses · 23/11/2014 16:52

I never saw the point of toy vacuum cleaners, brooms, washing machines etc.

Full size ones are much more useful. Grin

skylark2 · 23/11/2014 17:36

It looks as if it would work okay, for little princesses who want to help daddy sweep up Grin

The combination of baby pink and bright green is kinda vile, though.

Bulbasaur · 23/11/2014 17:45

But, how else are we going to prepare our daughters for their lot in life?

We can't expect them to be engineers or doctors, those are far to complex for a woman's brain.

If they can't learn how to properly do housework now, how will they ever find a husband to take care of them?

vienna1981 · 23/11/2014 20:40

Those brushes look ideal for scrubbing bathroom tile grout.

SophiaPetrillo · 23/11/2014 20:42

My DCs had the whole set of mini household gadgets, hoovers, irons, kettles the lot. At age 13 and 17 I've yet to see evidence of them transferring their play skills to the real McCoy, ha ha.
