Car insurance renewal insult

I don't think I'm being unreasonable and if I am I don 't care I am outraged.
I renewed my car insurance today because finally I managed to get a new car.I have used the same nodding dog company for years.Im now almost divorced so requested as an afterthought that my stbexh was removed as a named driver from my policy. They wanted to charge me an additional sixty odd quid for the pleasure. Not in admin but because as a single woman I am considered to be more risky than a married one!
Bloody cheek clearly as a married woman I'm less likely to have an accident than as a single one.How can this be justified.I have logged complaint etc but still feel disappointed in the company for having such outdated beliefs.
Just needed to get that off my chest thank you.

If you couldn't put someone else on, I'd have left him on there. I think actually cohabiting is lower risk than married.

Dunkling

You also gain from this though as women have less accidents than men hence lower premiums than men.

Not any more. See mine of 7.04 this morning, and spit at the European Court of Justice. You are subsidising my car insurance and I'm subsidising your pension annuity!

Ah, the weird ways of car insurance companies. My car is insured for me, DH, DD and DS. The car is an old banger. DS has a provisional licence. DD is an inexperienced driver. In truth, she's hardly ever here to drive the car. I asked how much cheaper the insurance would be without DD (I didn't even mention that she was moving abroad).

Can you guess the answer?

Go on, try.

OK, I'll tell you: if I took DD off, they would not insure my DS. At all. Confused

Your price didnt go up because youre not married it went up because you took the named driver off. Insurance companies like named drivers, they assume you will share the driving.

Fuck all to do with your marital status

I don't know whether you're ABU or not, I thought The Fall had released a new album, and I'm a tad disappointed to see this is not a review.
