wooo hoooo... my pineapple cutter from betterware arrived this morning, and i cant wait to get home to try it ...no more struggling in this house any more. I'm going to get the better of you yet you big spiky bastard

I do love pineapple but it makes my mouth all burny and tingly so I try to avoid. I recently found out why that happens and it freaks me out!

Why does it happen??

If it helps, I love pineapple juice! I just can't stand the texture of actual pineapple, it makes my teeth hurt. I haven't discarded it for the likes of papaya or passion fruit either as I don't like those! Or mango- yuck!

Cherry- Yes yes! That's exactly what it is! Why does that happen though?

I got one from Pampered Chef and it was crap!

I just googled pineapple tool & now I want one I love fresh pineapple but it is such a faff to prepare. Please let is know how it goes (with pics if possible!)

i will update. Now if they could only work out a gadget to stop the prickly little git bursting the carrier bag open and spiking my leg on the way home i will be happy.

Ah NoRoom - you see I get a perverse pleasure from cheating certain death when I thwack my knife into the pit as I hold the pitted half in my hand and twist it out before thwacking it into the sink! Does the pit come out cleanly with your magic tool, and more importantly, can it ripen up the rocks that I am forced to buy and then poke every 20 second to avoid missing the half hour window of avocado perfection?!

I use my apple corer to prepare pineapples. I slide it around the edge and it peels it perfectly. It's much better than a knife as it separates the fruit from the little brown bits in the skin. 1 tool = 2 uses.

Oh, I didn't explain that very well. I top the pineapple then slide the apple corer down the pineapple inside the peel. Iyswim

Ah, those heady carefree days of my youth Dojo, when I risked fingerectomy by thwacking that knife into the pit and twisting. No more. In truth the tool works best with medium size avos with medium size pits and does require a little bit of technique development. That short moment of avocado perfection? Still eluding me, I'm afraid. Someone should develop an avo ripeness alarm. I'll write to Lakeland.

I have just tried it.. And i am in love, its not the perfect tinned rings but with a bit of practice

No longer shall my pineapple sit on the kitchen work top mocking me, no longer will it sit in its smug prickly place goading me....it may have shredded my tights on the way home, but i will be victorious.
No pineapple big or small will go unchallenged.. You may be tough you big prickly bastard..but i am a woman with a beterware catalogue and a strange plastic contraption, and i will not be beaten

I love my pineapple cutter. Literally three minutes and whole things is cut and none of the usual mess. Have fun!
