My friend just called them junk still. They are sweetened with apple juice and have sea salt. Half a tin is 1.2g of salt (not sodium). Them with sweet potato and goats cheese seems very healthy to me.

What is it with this obsession over what is and isn't 'healthy'? You might eat whole earth baked beans for one meal a week and alternate McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Chinese takeaway etc for the rest of it!

Some people do seem to obsess about some very peculiar things.

I really don't like those beans they taste to sweet but suma do another brand that's okay

Concentrated apple juice = sugar and is the 4th ingredient, so not great. The cinnamon flavor is completely overpowering. I think they are vile.

Foxbiscuitselection · 06/11/2014 06:48

It's about 5g of sugar per 100g of food so it's considered low sugar along with anything else under about 8g sugar per 100g of food.

It's a fast convenience food really and ok every so often as they are definitely on the healthier end of fast foods. I'm less keen on fish fingers because they tend to be low in fish (only about 55% fish), made with nutritionally void white wheat, oil and flash fried. We just tend to grill a bit of cod which is just as convenient.

Just to add I've eaten low sugar low salt beans for a year now. I had normal beans yesterday in a cafe and they were bloody awful. Far to sweet! Couldn't eat them.

Some people will be along to tell you that anything not organically grown on your own allotment or sourced from your own livestock is 'processed junk' or 'industrial food'. They sound fine to me but I'll be sticking with Heinz.

Whole Earth baked beans were great until they changed their recipe about two years ago. We all used to love them, but no one will eat them any more.
