I know it's abiu but here goes.

I had t a week of work last week. Holiday.

Got sick on Friday, couldn't get out of bed with out the room spinning by Sunday

Went back to work Monday feeling better but having the cold go to my chest.

Went to doctors today and i have a chest infection.

I work as a cleaner, the only cleaner in a two level building so it's active.

I'm also a single parent with little support. I put the kids to bed early tonight as the youngest was pushing my buttons

I'm ashamed to say I crawled into bed and bawled like a baby, the thought of going to work tomorrow is horrible, my social anxty won't let me call in sick, I want some one to care about me, to look after me for a change. Hell I'll even settle for some one blowing smoke on because I am gagging for a fag!!

So iv done the crying would I be to open the tub of roses I brought for Christmas?

I was recovering from impetigo and got stuck into the Halloween cupcakes over the weekend.

Sorry to hear you arent well OP. I hope you enjoyed the chocolates. Thanks My mum and H will be pleased to learn they have kept the coffee ones in again this year although according to them the coffee ones that Roses had in the 80s were way better.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/11/2014 02:49

I'll take the toffees!! Over here!!!

I'm glad you're calling in. You deserve the rest. And sometimes we all need a good cry (and choc). It's very healing to the soul.

waithorse · 05/11/2014 06:06

I hope you've called in. Get well soon. Thanks

wonderingsoul · 05/11/2014 07:48

Well I did it, just picked up the phone and diled.

And as expected i got a speech about how they don't need this right now their rushed of their feet covering people as it is am I sure i can't come... anxtiy attack is not what I need right now.

I hate this. Once iv dropped kids of at school goimg to go hibernate.

Thank you guys though, I don't think i would have called in if it wasn't for gental telling it was ok.

I'd be complaining to HR OP. That is appalling treatment for a genuine sick day.

Notmeagain1 · 05/11/2014 09:05

Good for you being able to call in. Dont let them bully you or make you feel guilty.

People get sick, its a fact of life.

Snuggle up in ur pjs, sip some hot tea and feel better soon. (If any chocs are left of couse finish those off while your at it, or send them to meGrin)

Purplepixiedust · 05/11/2014 09:45

Poor you. Yes I find roses more sickly these days too but in your shoes would have had a good go at them!

You can't help being sick. Be kind to yourself. Hope you are feeling better soon. Flowers

allypally999 · 05/11/2014 10:25

Sorry you are having such a rubbish time .. could you be a wee bit depressed? No shame in admitting it these days .. I do!

On a different note ... they brought the coffee ones back? Yeehaa! Save me them lol

AcrossthePond55 · 05/11/2014 15:25

I had a boss like that once upon a time. Lordy, she could pile on the guilt about co-workers having to take my appointments and things she had 'planned' for me to do that she would now have to 'burden' my coworkers with. Took me 2 minutes after the sick call to get over it Grin.

Hope you're having a lovely, snuggly day!

diddl · 05/11/2014 15:33

Well done for calling in.

Will you be needing to get to the Drs for a note?

Sometimes you need a couple of days resting up as much as you can to get rid of something.

struggling in to work can just keep it hanging around for too long, especially when it's physical work.

wonderingsoul · 05/11/2014 17:21

Was this the first ever unanimous YANBU?

ValerieTheVodkaFairy · 05/11/2014 17:45

Yanbu. This was me last week. Then the doctor gave me happy pills, and I wasn't able to eat for a few days. Am now in possession of a box of Celebrations and the TV remote.

I was a single parent for a bit, before meeting DH, and I had Norovirus, was out of action for two weeks. It was the most horrible thing. I also have anxiety, so I know.

Lots of unMN hugs, and a Berkeley Menthol Grin
