When I started year 7 I had long hair and another girl and myself would often style our hair.
One day we put our hair up in buns on the tops of our heads and used friends hair tie. Just a cotton headband, and I forgot about it and went home with it.
The next time I went round to friends the whole family were sitting in the kitchen and I was called through by friends dad. He proceeded to inform me I had 'stolen' her hairband, and I just remember him questioning me like (honestly) I was on trial at the stand. "So you didn't notice you had it in ... didn't you remember later. Couldn't you have called Mary?" (not her name.) It was awful. I didn't know how to deal with it at the time, so I just stammered my way through and then went home as soon as possible!
I don't know why but I occasionally think about this and - well, it's seriously odd, isn't it?
