of my partner working nights. Its only the second week! I hate it. I really fucking hate it. All he talks about is the extra money (not even that much) without thinking about how is affecting him, his social life, us. So instead of shouting at him I'm venting here. It's so not worth it imo and we haven't spent time together since it started. Between me working days and him nights we've had maybe 4 hours. Ugh.

Is it a permanent thing or is he only doing it for say, 6 weeks?

Looks to be permanent.

I know how you feel Susan my DH's on week 9 of a 12 week stint, I'm 7 months pregnant, have a toddler and a 6 year old and have had enough. It's not helped that he's 3 sunday nights off in this time, yet has chosen to go out for the day with his friends instead of spending a bit of time with me and the DC...

YANBU. DP does a full week of nights every four months as part of a standard shift pattern (no extra money) and it turns both of us into raging monsters by the end of the week. No advice but I feel your pain.

If it's permanent then I think you really need to sit down and discuss the pros and cons of this. You stay it isn't that much extra money, which seems to be his only reason for wanting to do it. Does he know what an impact this is having on you? It doesn't sound worth it to me.
