Duvet Cover Rage

Does anyone else have this problem? Changed over to winter KS duvet (for double bed to give extra coverage) but the top corners of the duvet refuse to stay in the top corners of the duvet cover despite my shaking it several times. So now most of the duvet (and its warmth) is in the bottom half of the cover. At least it has warmed me up but also made me very cross. (Disclaimer - monthly visitor due next weekend). Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?

Sew a loop in the corners of the duvet and ties on the corners of the cover then tie them together.

Turn it upside down. You can gnaw on the poppers if you wake up raging about this in the night.

I hate that too. The loop idea is very good.

Yes I have sewed loops into the corners and middle of the duvet cover and tie them through the buttonholes in the duvet (all seasons).

DS has a duvet cover he loves but is very slippy...that one has loops at the bottom as well

I hang mine over the banister and give it a good shake, seems to stay put.
Of course if you live in a bungalow you are fecked Grin

Turn cover inside out.

Lie the duvet on the floor, straightish

Put your hands inside the cover in each of the corners furthest away from you

Through the cover, pinch the corners of the duvet.

Keeping the corners firmly pinched, shake the cover over the rest of the duvet.

My proudest moment as a parent is when DS was the only kid on a residential trip aged about 9 that could do this (it's all gone downhill since) Grin

Oh my word, this gives me rage!! Confused
Can't stand uneven duvet distribution. DH thinks I'm mental.
Love the loop idea! That's pure genius. Now if only I wasn't too lazy to sew... Grin

Tack a stitch straight through the duvet cover and duvet at each top corner (one in the middle too if you like)

It'll be enough to keep the duvet in place but easy enough to snip or break when you want to change it.

I agree with the stitch comment. I actually have to roughly stitch my duvet into the duvet cover because my dog insists on eating the buttons off it and then tearing lumps out of the duvet - I'm on my third in 18 months! Angry

For those who don't sew, try nappy pins.

Haha, I get this too! Drives me insane.

Not as bad as the rage I get putting the bloody cover on in the first place though. I always end up red faced, sweating, very very irritable and shout at anyone who tries to talk to me while I change my KS duvet cover (being very short doesn't help I often end up trapped inside).

Saw a genius method where you roll it up then somehow unroll and it just goes on, but my arms are too short to do it Sad

I like the bannister idea though! Thank you, you may have saved my sanity! Grin

I never realised people had such problems with duvets!

OP is your duvet cover satin or silk? Just wondering why it is so slippy? I have never had this problem.

Clothes pegs to hold the duvet and the cover corners together at one end, then roll it down to the other.

Roomba, I'm short too but I use the inside out technique. Turn duvet cover inside out, put arms inside and put hands in top corners, grab top corners of duvet and shake well, popper closed. I end up standing on the bed to shake the duvet cover down and shake again the other way to even it all out.

I use hair bands to hold it in place

Dunelm sell clips that go on the top corners while you sort the bottom, no sewing or flaff involved - they work!
