the same initial as sibling is annoying believe me as I have the same initial as my brother. It means you have the same initials eg 'MC' and post gets mixed up (more so if they are both miss MC)

Don't get me wrong I'm not scarred by it but imo there's no need unless you have more than 26 children

Ok have definitely been put off Maggie. I am now thinking Skye or Ruby. Is Skye thought of as hippy?

If you called her 'Molly' you could then have a 3rd and call her 'Mandy'. Now that DOES age me!!!

Bluetone · 02/11/2014 16:10

I wouldn't say Skye is hippy. It's very popular here (I live not far from Isle of Skye) I like it :)

What about Nell - Millie and Nell sounds perfect to me. As your Millie is Millicent on her birth certificate, Nell could be Eleanor. Failing that how about Josie with Josephine as her 'proper' name. IMHO Josephine is a name from the past a bit like Millicent, and definitely due a come-back.

Bluetone - I am interested to know then - does it have any connotations good or bad or just seen as a normal name? I am not sure whether to go classic -ie Olivia or Skye not so classic but not as common either. Skye is popular in Australia where I am orginally from, but not sure exactly how it is perceived here. I need a name to work in both countries! Harder than you may think!
