Or is that really tight for two kids!?!?!?! We have people who will do for free so don't want to pay too much

Whooooah! Didn't intend to cause an argument or offence so sorry to any offence that's my fault on here!!!

we paid the last one £5 an hour as that's what she suggested, I was asking Because I wasn't sure if it was tight and wanted opinions if it was too little.

I haven't been out for AGES and am only talking about maybe four hours max so we can go out for tea and maybe a glass of wine or the cinema.

Oh I don't know, I reckon I could get pretty pissed on £20 in Whetherspoons.
Grin.
I am lucky enough to have free babysitters so it's not something I give a lot of thought, how much is the going rate for a babysitting agency ?

I don't thing I would want to pay much more than 5/6 ph. If I did it would end up costing as much in childcare as it did to go out Shock

Sitters (agency) charge £6.50 ph (£6.75 in central London) plus a £4 fee that goes to them.

I think £5 an hour is fine, and anyway it doesn't matter what we all think, if they're happy with £5, then it's fine.
I've actually started to do lots of babysitting, as essentially whether I get paid £5 or £10 an hour, I'm being paid to sit on my fat arse watching TV.

I think that £7 an hour would be reasonable.

YANBU if you can find a nursery worker who is prepared to work for that. YWBU to expect that it might be easy to find one willing to.

I've done a fair bit of babysitting - if it's a school pick up with making tea & all that, or putting a baby to bed with dinner, nappy bottles, bath etc then I ask for 9-10 per hour.

If older children who put themselves to bed or just being there while kids asleep then 7 per hour.

That's in London, but everyone seemed happy. Oh, and with my two most commom clients I always got food left specially for me - but they were semi-friends anyhow...
