Yes, she looks rough and is probably from a rough background, not that the people of Gateshead deserve to have milk thrown over them Confused

SoonToBeSix · 30/10/2014 17:46

Four months suspension? It should have been four months in prison for assault.

WowserBooooooooooooser · 30/10/2014 17:52

My Dad is from Gateshead and not rough at all! He is lovely. As were my Grandparents.

As for that midwife - what an awful woman.

hiddenhome · 30/10/2014 17:54

She should be struck off.

Babies/children aren't valued which is why she's got away with it. If she'd done this to an adult there'd be hell to pay.

hiddenhome · 30/10/2014 17:57

I'm from Gateshead too, but you have to admit some of the people from there are very rough and ready.

I'm getting annoyed about Gateshead people being called 'rough and ready.

That is just such an unreasonable sweeping statement.

BTW I'm from a very 'rough' town in the NW.

FoxgloveFairy · 30/10/2014 19:38

Four months suspension? Good God. So there she'll be now, working with babies to throw milk over and laughing about father's shitting themselves. PEople of Gateshead, do not have your babies at night.

Nomama · 31/10/2014 08:10

foxglove from reading what Viva added it seems she was suspended and put on a list that prevents her from working.... which she is still on. So, contrary to my previous thought, she won't be working - maybe never again!

Thankfully!

Not excusing it, but Gateshead's well rough like.

Seriously? Yes, it has its iffy areas, but most people in Gateshead are pretty decent, just like any other large town/borough/city. What a horrible generalisation.

DomiKatetrixortreat · 31/10/2014 09:03

What a horror! I really want to kick her in the face.

Nomama · 31/10/2014 13:27

How nice!

WrappedInABlankie · 31/10/2014 13:31

So after that she still got to work in the day treating people?? Shock

She's from Gateshead? Ah well, that's ok then... Confused

Nomama · 31/10/2014 13:44

Wrapped which bit aren't you reading?

She was suspended for 4 months and then put on a list that effectively bans her form working as a midwife... there is an October 2013 update if you go have a look.

WrappedInABlankie · 31/10/2014 18:32

Nomama read the second link! It says she was allowed to work but not allowed to at night or teach students until that trial Hmm

OP posts:
Nomama · 31/10/2014 18:36

Yes... that would be right, innocent until proved guilty and all that! She was not allowed to work unsupervised or to teach... put on short duties until the legal proceedings took place.

What would you rather, DomiKate gave her a good kicking and the world moved on? Due process... law of the land.... and it is still a very old story, she hasn't worked as a midwife for ages. A good outcome!

VivaLeBeaver · 31/10/2014 18:48

I think she was originally dismissed/suspended by her trust and fought it via a tribunal which ruled that legally she had to be reinstated until the nmc hearing decision.

The articles don't talk about this but I would imagine that as well as being on day shifts only she would be on some form of supervised practice during that period. The local senior midwives can Implement this without a court ruling and in its most severe form it would mean she would have to work literally alongside another midwife at all times.

lomega · 31/10/2014 20:24

What a disgusting woman. that poor baby. I hope she treats her own family with more respect. if I'd had her as a MW in hospital she'd have been sued to shit.
