AIBU to worry about DSD?

Hi all,

I have a DSD aged 6, 7 in December, and lately I've caught her playing with her bits.

When we were eating dinner she was moving her hand in the general area, while watching frozen on the sofa.

I have asked her if the area is itchy, and she says no. Is it normal for a girl of 6 to do so?

I don't want to mention it to dh yet incase it's nothing.

Thank u in advance

perfectly normal! might be worth having a quiet word about doing it in private though!

It's normal for any person, of any age, to play with their bits. A chat about privacy and the underwear rule is probably in order, though.

Lovely, thank you.

Was a bit concerned, I only have boys and oldest is 4 so we haven't got to the playing stage yet.

I think it´s normal, as long as she knows not to let anyone else touch her there.

Also maybe reinforce the wipe from front to back rule just in case she does have some sort of infection.

YABU to call them her bits [unhelpful]

ScaryZ · 26/10/2014 22:44

Sorry, that was a bit snarky.

Totally normal for a child to discover that touching themselves feels nice. Don't shame her, just let her know that it's a very private thing, to be done in private.

Blimey - you're lucky !!

My gob is officially smacked. No pulling it like an elastic band, no gleefully waving it around, no poking it?
