To ask for ideas on a solo birthday weekend?

My birthday is coming up, and its been a bit of a weird few months.
I had a MC (although I didn't know I was pregnant) which then led to a break-up.
I moved to a new area for ex but haven't really made any friends since I've been here (London).

I have friends in other areas of the UK but none of them are keen on doing anything to celebrate, so I am planning to just spoil myself for the weekend.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? I will probably go for a nice lunch, and maybe book a facial or something, but that will all be over pretty quickly!

I like going out for drinks but I don't feel comfortable doing that by myself. My boss has given me the afternoon off on my actual birthday (the Wednesday) despite me insisting no, so that I can 'get ready' for the evening. Feel a bit silly telling her I won't be doing anything in the evening :(
I've already told her I will babysit on NYE for her, she must think I'm very boring. (She is aware of break up but not of MC, it happened 3 weeks into new job so didn't want to take time off so soon after starting)

Lots of lovely ideas, and I thought I'd just say happy birthday for Wednesday OP. Thanks

I have had birthdays on my own before and they can be fun if you go about it with the right attitude, which you are. No moping, get out and enjoy yourself! Smile Have fun whatever you decide to do.

I'd go see a play or show.

Caitmous, the Curzon Soho cafe has recently been redone and sadly isn't a Konditor & Cook any more. They still do cakes though, some made in-house.

See a movie, take a glass of champagne to your seat and enjoy it.

Selfridges has a new alpine style roof restaurant that's opened (Le chalet) maybe go there and have one of their hot chocolate cocktails?

God I would love a birthday on my own in London. I'm very jealous!

Sounds lovely. I love a solo day to do what I want and not have to worry about anyone else. If you do go to Tower of London (poppies v spectacular) don't forget to get your ticket validated so you can use it over and over for next 12 months. It's included in the price. Have fun and happy birthday.

Sounds like a lovely day OP! I think having a selfish and indulgent day (or two) once a year should be encouraged.
Perhaps you should make it an annual thing?! I'm going to Gladstones Library for my birthday and I'm leaving everyone at home - books and a bed all to myself is my idea of heaven!

If there is time book yourself a full body massage somewhere! Simply bliss.
