To be slightly cross at my hairdresser

So i had the full works done at a new hairdresser £60, and i bought some products. Total was £95. I paid with a card and gave him £10 cash as a tip as he had done a splendid head massage while washing. He wasn't pleased... Am i out the loop here because it wasn't enough or should you not tip a hairdresser anymore???

He'd love me. I don't tip. It's an American thing and it needs stomping out, not encouraging. The salons charge enough to pay their staff properly.

Completely agree with this. I don't tip either. Customers pay enough as it is without being expected to top up wages of people just doing their job.
How do you know he was displeased? If he really was then he's a greedy grasping twerp and the whole reason tipping should be abolished.

I'm don't tip, my hair cut cost £40 about 4 months ago, went the other day and it cost £50....still fuming !

I don't know if that's a normal cost for independent salons but Toni and guy charge £48 for their senior stylist.

Frankly at those prices why should you tip ?

Sorry that was just for a cut
