I locked my son in the garden.

I have four kids, 3 are legal adults.
I got up early for work one morning and noticed the patio door was unlocked. I thought that one of the older kids 21yrs had been smoking in garden or using our little log cabin late at night and forgot to lock door.
I locked the door and went to work.

had to turn down volume of phone for work and missed 8 calls.
turns out son was in shed and 21yr old son needed to get ready for work. he also needed to respond to an urgent call of nature.

eldest son 23 yrs was in bed, but didnt respond to bashing on windows, phone calls or throwing of rabbit poo on window < we have a pet rabbit> but older son doenst wake up when in deep sleep. needs at least 3 alarm clocks to wake him up.

neighbour helped in the end.

however son says that as he was very very late for work I am at fault for him nearly loosing his job.
AIBU in saying it was all his own fault for not getting in to his own bed at reasonable time?

my 4th child is a girl. she is 16.

all her friends have odd names, some animal , some with loads of 'ss' sounds .
She is very in to make up, and did her friends make up for their prom. she also does my make up for parties, and likes to make choc chip cookies and leave the mess for me to clear up.

she is arty, doing an art course at college.

her loves are you tube people who seem to live boring self absorbed lives as far as I can tell.

Her 18 yr old brother is at the same college, as are 3 of their cousins.
my nephew is extremely good looking and daughter has loads of people asking if he is single. gay guys asking hopefully if nephew is gay, and if he is available daughter is fed up with people trying to be her friend to gain access to cousin.

18yr old son does an IT course. He points out that he is the only one in the class who is not a virgin and has a girlfriend.

I will post 2nd son 21yrs music at some point.

beardy son 23 brought a couple of hairy friends to music shed last night. all listening to grandad's old jazz records. He would have been so pleased about that.

have to say I am not that keen on jazz. very pleased we have shed.

also, remembered that son 21 had an urgent call of nature while trapped in garden. He seemed very distressed when i listened to my phone messages.

wonder if I need to go to end of garden and look for a 'gorillas finger' under a pile of leaves somewhere.

how do you broach that subject with your 21yr old son? any ideas anyone?

As for the potential gorillas finger, to save a face to beard confrontation, maybe just leave a spade nonchalantly propped on said shed with a little note saying Mum's new Eco Garden Policy is that any compostable waste in the vicinity needs to be buried immediately.

On the back of this thread, I'm now googling garden sheds so I can move my son's drums and ever expanding guitar collection outside. It's a genius idea! I can't believe I've never thought of it before!
