Ds just look an empty 30ml bottle of hand sanatizer out of my bag without me realising and licked round the top. I had meant to throw it away I feel so guilty. Will he be ok? Should I call out of hours? He must gghave literally just got a taste of iit and wouldn't have swallowed any more as it was empty. Sad

You're being very ridiculous. I truly wonder what you would do if mn did not exist. This can't be your go to for common sense.

TheABC · 24/10/2014 20:19

Lick, fine, gulp - ring OOH. If it's any consolation I found my 15 month old in the garden with slugs. Fairly sure they got licked as well.

keeptheballrolling · 24/10/2014 20:19

What ottilia? He's not my PFB?

keeptheballrolling · 24/10/2014 20:22

Ok, so the general tone is that I'm an anxious nut job Grin

He's not?
How could I get it so wrong!

And no one's licked anything untoward until now?
Dog bowl, soap, floor?

He'll be fine.

keeptheballrolling · 24/10/2014 20:23

Thanks for advice everyone. I was genuinely concerned. Im having a rough time with my ananxiety at the minute. It's hard to tell what's real worry and what might seem daft to others..

No, I have a 6yo dd and 16 mo ds and so far we've not had anything untoward ingested (until now)

He seems fine

If it was so toxic that a lick would harm him, it wouldn't be a product that could be used on hands would it?

Knottyknitter · 24/10/2014 20:30

In newborn check the doc or midwife feels all the way along their palate with a finger. That finger will have been sanitised with the same stuff just prior to the check. Nothing to worry about at all.

OttiliaVonBCup · 24/10/2014 20:32

You're either very lucky or else you watch them like a hawk.

I honestly would not worry and I think I'm guilty of half that's mentioned on the PFB thread.

pigsDOfly · 24/10/2014 20:36

Christ, some of the answers on here are a bit harsh and nasty.

Yes, the OP might be over reacting, as I'm sure she now realises, but she did say she's an anxious person.

What happened to empathy?

keeptheballrolling · 24/10/2014 20:45

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. I do feel better. Youre all brill Smile.
I do probably come here for a little common sense sometimes as a pp said, sometimes what feels pike common sense to most people seems like a big deal to me. Sorry if I came across like I was time wasting.

I feel your pain, keep. I also have terrible anxiety issues. Think the other responses are what you needed though (people around me have to use this no-nonsense approach too!). My 13mo DS managed to get into my (zipped) handbag and eat god-knows-how-many tic tags the other day and I was beside myself! Glad this thread has helped.

ithoughtofitfirst · 24/10/2014 21:55

When my anxiety is bad i worry about stuff like this too. You can't help it. He will be absolutely fine though. Try not to worry... i know it's easier said than done.

IneedAwittierNickname · 24/10/2014 21:59

My of drank bathroom cleaner at a similar age! I didn't realise he could a. climb on the toilet and b. Open lids!

The only side effect was lemon fresh breath Shock

PillForgettingIdiot · 24/10/2014 22:00

If you put it on your hands, it is ok to lick.

WilburIsSomePig · 24/10/2014 22:10

Aw I would have been the same when mine were little. Don't worry he'll be fine but I can see why you were worried.
