To not want to pay £80 for my family to visit center parcs for the day?

Not for swimming - just to see our friends who are staying there, have lunch with em, explore the park. What a rip off! Or am I being tight??

I think that it depends a bit on whether your friends will be providing lunch or whether you will be paying for that on top of the entrance fee. It might be worth it if they are giving you lunch and then you use the facilities for the rest of the day.

Like someone has already said, it would probably cost about £80 to take a family of 4 to a standalone waterpark. I know I've paid more than £20 pp at the ones I've been to, which weren't in the UK but I'm sure they cost at least as much here.

And presumably you can ride your bikes or walk around the forest etc as well. If you could pay for a day pass without having to have people already there, I would have probably done it by now because I love waterparks.

Problem is, outside of Sherwood there isn't really anywhere close by to eat for lunch (well not that I know of, anyway - do tell me if anyone knows otherwise as I've been looking for a decent pub near Clumber for ages).

Don't pay it if you won't be swimming, OP, but if you were I reckon it's worth it. The facilities are fab - not just the pool, but the bike trails, parks, beach etc.

Wig and mitre at Caunton Beck is nice.
