to expect DH to ask if I wanted to eat?

I had a work related drinks do that I asked DH along to. the idea was we would go out for dinner afterwards. in the end he suggested we meet a group of friends who were at a pub. they'd already eaten so we ordered drinks. after a while I looked up and DH ejo was at the other end if the table had ordered food without telling me.im actually quite hurt at his lack of chivalry it something. he can't see the big deal. but I wouldn't have ordered in those circa without asking him if he wanted something.

Very strange behaviour yes, I can't imagine a situation where that would occur with my husband and I.. we'd order at the same time as it's easier.. it's just odd.

Was he trying to give the impression he was alone ?

I'd be very very upset and wouldn't have been able to hide it Sad.

Has he ever done anything like this before?

oranges · 17/10/2014 13:15

no. everyone knew we were a couple.he wasnt flirting or anything with anyone. think he was just hungry and annoyed with me over something he couldn't articulate so just ordered.

rude and annoying and thoughtless, so what did you do, share? Did you order your own?

I hate ordering food when everyone has already eaten, I feel everyone is watching me (weirdo)

BuggersMuddle · 17/10/2014 13:26

A bit thoughtless.

I would have expected an 'I'm off to the bar to order some food - do you want anything' at the very least.

Bit different if you're at a big group and a few people are ordering chips to share or something (but even then we usually open the suggestion to the whole table Confused )

YANBU - he was rude.

yes I ordered my own. He didnt offer to share and by that point I decided I would rather continue chatting at my end too

Well, not a make-or-break, but it is the little things that count, isn't it?

Forgive and forget (after you point it out to him, and he gets it wasn't ideal)

yes Im also annoyed by the fact that i got home in a temper, told him to sleep in the spare room. then both children climbed into bed and kicked all night. and he slept perfectly in an empty bed and woke up feeling much better than me.
