To think Amal Clooney could teach Victoria Beckham how to handle the paparazzi?

If you've chosen a path that means you're going to be continually photographed you might as well embrace it like Amal rather than pretending you find it a drag like Victoria does

Amal does seem to adore the attention!

Well said Thebody. I'm a huge fan of Victoria Beckham, I think she's been very dignified under constant fire from the tabloids. She absolutely refuses to just be Mrs David Beckham and insists on working hard to make her own name and I admire her so much for that.

And she doesn't owe anybody a big cheesy grin. I'm a fellow scowler so I have sympathy!

Gunznroses · 14/10/2014 16:39

I remember the days when VB used to smile, she had the loveliest smile of them all. Then suddenly it disappeared like a puff of smoke, never to be seen again, i sometimes think i imagined it. Sad

Oh God, it would be just so great if we could STOP focusing on how these women look and making judgmental remarks about how they deal with media attention and instead look at what they are actually achieving, which is quite phenomenal. Feminism, hell yeah!

Gunznroses · 14/10/2014 16:41

Well... i'm not expecting big cheesy grins, after all it must get tiring, but once in a while would be nice. She's a very strong woman though and doesn't give up easily, she's raising some lovely kids too, good for her!

CateBlanket · 14/10/2014 17:19

VB and Amal want us to focus on what they are wearing!

TheLovelyBoots Amal needs to stop the coquettish hair flipping when she's photographed, I think it's rather beneath a barrister.

Agree. Its weird. It just looks really, really strange. Yes, we get it, you have hair.

And did someone mention Angelina? Same category I think. Especially that weird white suit the other day. None of this is stylish, its overdone to a crisp, bland, unnatural and craving attention.

Not much opinion either way but I'd hate to see all women in the public eye expected to behave in a similar way. I quite like VB's refusal to plaster a constant grin over her face!

Pistone · 14/10/2014 19:15

I don't expect VB to walk around with a smile plastered to her face every time a camera is pointed her way(even though she'd hate it if they weren't). But why the miserable sour face, she could at least look a bit more contented, and maybe count a few of her very many blessings.

Worksallhours · 14/10/2014 20:11

Gunznroses ... I read somewhere that VB was told she looked goofy or something when she smiled, so she stopped doing it whenever there was a camera around.

They are more politely known as the Parthenon Marbles, and I don't think the Greeks want them "off us", rather would like them returning to where they rightfully belong.

queenceleste · 15/10/2014 12:33

Of course the Greeks want them returned and they should be.

Legally though that will create a looming monster for all the great museums of the world who will be nervous of losing their raison d'être obvs.

There is the argument that these archaeological thefts effectively protected artefacts from dodgy sales which go on all over the world. I think a lot of stuff got sold on the black market following the bombing of Iraq.

I think she has to be careful of being used in a cheap way. Using her celebrity to strong arm her causes could well back fire as she is a professional in her own right and has that clout through merit. She did try to smile less insanely in the later pictures but still it wreaks of crazy girlfriend waving gun around in a movie shouting 'What does it do?" BANG BANG BANG "oops"
law of unintended consequences etc.
