I loved to cook, it was lovely once upon a time. I fucking hate it now.

I am so very bored of providing healthy, nutricious and interesting meals.

I will have a microwave and a massive supply of ready meals. The DC will be able to eat enough fruit and veg plus no cooking!

So bored and sad. Is there a way to get back in to cooking?

AIBU to not care?

Depends, I suppose, on how much you care what you're putting into yourself. I cook from scratch because I love it and because I cannot bear all the crap listed in the ingredients on convenience meals. Was it anything in particular that made you feel like this?

Nearly to the day when H left. I know, I know...

Aaaw, that's sad. You need to get you mojo hate that word but can't think of anything better back.

Perhaps try baking/puddings first?

Ask DCs what they want to eat, possibly get them involved?

MrsPiggie · 10/10/2014 20:53

I understand your frustration, op. It used to be so nice cooking a lovely elaborate meal for friends once a month... Cooking a meal from scratch every day, that is healthy and also appeals to fussy DCs is just a chore nowadays, and the effort goes unnoticed.

I get you OP.

I really really get you.

OraProNobis · 10/10/2014 21:29

I completely understand in that case OP. Sorry - that's sad for you. But look - you say you loved cooking - please don't let him take that away from you as well. Is there maybe a friend or neighbour you could offer to cook something for? Maybe parents? I wonder if doing as as something NOT for yourself might be a way back in? I think you'll be much happier when you find a way round this. I wish you well :)

Start with cakes and little treats, pancakes, easy salads, something you can add to your usual spread of ready meals. More of a treat than having to cook. Under the circumstances, it is perfectly understandable xx
