Sorry, only a dm link

Basically she's the Rochdale councillor, married to an MP who has been in the press recently for the fact she posts selfies on Twitter displaying some cleavage.

She got a slating on Loose Women with Janet Street Porter basically saying that especially with the recent underage/sex abuse scandal in Rochdale she should be setting a better example to young girls.

Which to me sounds like total victim blaming.....that young girls shouldn't be encouraged to wear low cut tops, etc.

Also for what it's worth Jamelia has done more in my opinion for womens rights recently than KD seems to have done. Jamelia has spoken openly and honestly about her abusive relationship and how she found the courage to leave. As someone who has worked with womens aid I find that very commendable and I think she has done very well to come forward and encourage other women to leave.

I have yet to hear some specific policies from KD. All her responses are to do with people having a go at her and her saying if women stopped having a go at other women more women would make it to the top in Westminster.

Well maybe. I am not convinced she's going about it the right way.

No idea about this woman’s policies or her personal life (aside from what I’ve read on this thread), but the selfies really, really get on my tits. They remind me of the pictures some of my facebook acquaintances add with the blindingly obvious intention of getting likes and comments like “Omg bbz you look amazin”. Everyone likes to be told that they look well, but seeking approbation (or publicity) in such a transparent manner is just pathetic. I expect more of the people that are supposed to represent me, male or female.

The fact that she frames this as “new politics” and likes to remind us that she won ‘Best Dressed’ at the latest conference….so what? You can’t see much of her outfits in those seflies to be honest, it’s mostly boob.

Jamelia was a hypocrite, of course the uber sexualisation of women in the music industry is important. The whole message that women have to get their kit off and look and as sexy to get noticed - while men just carry on as usual and don't have to jump through the same hoops. And KD is just buying into this. Total attention seeker and obviously loves herself. I thought teenagers acted like that, all the sexy, posed selfie stuff. She want's to be taken seriously as a grown women, politician, business woman and mother - seems more like she just wants the attention.

I'm struggling to find any record of her policies Craic.
