Just wondered if I'm alone in this or if ther are others who feel the same?

DS has been invited to a Halloween birthday party and it's fancy dress. DS is 2.5 and I feel a bit uncomfortable dressing him I a scary costume. Anyone else feel like this? Don't want to be a party pooper.

Ebay is great for this. There are loads of non scary costumes at low prices and there is still time to get it in time for halloween if you order now it could be here by Friday! Last year my ds1 aged 3 was a monkey and ds1 was a banana! He couldn't walk so it didn't matter that it had no legs just a long sleeping bag type thing, quite amusing actually!

Tesco have a werewolf one isn't scary or they have some masks of devils and skeletons etc. which are cartoony rather than sinister. Sort of chubby faced and smiling.

Hate Halloween. Vile commercialised celebration of all things vulgar and unpleasant. My kid doesn't like it either. Stand up for yourself. You think it's naff and nasty, so don't engage with it.

I got a 3-4 skeleton suit for DD at Sainsbo's last year, not sure if they still do them. It also came in handy on World Book Day (Bumps in the Night!).

Definitely doesn't have to be scary, most small children's costumes aren't scary anyway. Mine have been things like pumpkins, spiders, skeleton without a mask just a onesie thing with bones on. This year they're all cats! Cat ears, tail, all dressed in black with whiskers painted on their faces. Easy and definitely not scary. Also fancy dress doesn't have to be anything Halloween-esque so fireman, ballerina, doctor or whatever are all fine.

M and S have a skeleton onesie that would be good for soft play.
