Little boy aged about 6 or 7, desperately wanted to play a particular game on the WII. His dad wouldn't let him because the main character in the game was a princess so it was therefore a girl's game.

His dad gave him a proper telling off about it.

A friend of mine wouldn't let his 3yr old ds have a toy kitchen as it's a 'girls toy', the same guy who thinks that men make better chefs, but he can't see the contradiction!
My dd had a chuggington train set for Christmas when she was 2 and currently at nearly 4 absolutely loves Spider-Man, I don't see what difference it could possibly make!

Oh god yes! The looks my DS gets when he goes out with painted fingernails are hilarious!
Fact is, I have a 17 yr old DD and a 3 yr old DS. He wants to be like his big sister and I have no problem with it.

Lol @ Lara Stone Grin my brother used to play that old version to trap the butler in the freezer. /nostalgia

Ontopic, OP that is shameful. How awful for that little boy. My DS loved My Little Pony and has a couple of the toys. I'm glad he likes playing with them alongside his other toys, despite the fact they're 'girls' toys traditionally.
