WIBU to email my consultant?

I've been waiting and waiting and bloody waiting for a follow up appointment after a hospital admittance, tests, scans etc, I saw a consultant over 2 weeks ago & he referred me to another hospital (still seeing him). The new hospital needs a letter from the old hospital to set up an appointment.
I have been told several times that it'd been done but yet again I phoned today & it hasn't. The secretary, for some reason, hasn't done it yet.
I'm at my wits end. It took 10 weeks to see the doctor originally, despite being told my referral was 'urgent'.
I'm in pain, I can't work, I've been promised that things are moving but they never seem to.
I work in the same trust that I saw the doctor in & have therefore been able to find out his email address. Would it be horribly stalkerish to email him & let him know what's going on & ask if he can get a follow up set up?
I know medical staff don't do the paperwork but I'm banging my head against a wall trying to go the 'proper' route.
I've spoken to PALS & today spoke to an nhs complaints advocacy service. I don't want to complain, I love the nhs & defend it to the hilt but I've had enough.

It's so frustrating, isn't it? The NHS does some things so well but then poor communication lets so many things down, it's ridiculous that you're still in so much pain.

I'm doing OK but am still very tired. I finished my Menoperin a couple of weeks ago, it had a fairly inevitable effect on my insides but I naively assumed that would resolve after I stopped taking it - no such luck, was tested for C Diff yesterday but am pretty confident I've not got that!

I'm going back for another scan in 2 weeks that have an OPA 2 weeks after that where we're going to discuss me going back for cranioplasty, I must say I really don't want my head opened again!

I hope you get your appointment soon, keep trying phoning the secretary.

I don't blame you for not wanting your head opened again Sauv! Can't say it'd be high on my list of 'things I want to have done', do you know how likely it is that it will have to happen?
I hope your stomach settles soon. C diff is unlikely, Meropenem isn't one of the anti-b's that tends to cause it but if you do have it, it can be treated or should resolve on its own. Has your doctor suggested you try probiotics? There's some evidence that they may help.
Odd question, but one which any microbiologist will know why I'm asking instantly, does your poo smell like the elephant house at the zoo?
C diff makes your poo smell like elephant dung.
That's today's exciting and completely useless fact! :)
Well, he replied! He was a bit more humble, said he did remember me but he couldn't do anything.
I shall speak to Guys again today, and I'm going to actually go & talk to PALS rather than phone them, must chase up my pain clinic referral too.
I didn't end up going back to A&E. I took 3 tramadol, a diclofenac supp and 2 sleeping tablets and basically drugged myself to sleep. The pain is a bit better today so hopefully I'll stay away from the hospital over the weekend. The last time I went to A&E was on a Friday night & it was a nightmare!
Take care of yourself Sauv. Have good weekend.

I had a lovely weekend thanks, had two family parties! Grin
Was back at the GPs on Monday and told that I do have C Diff. I was on a couple of Cephlasphorins before the Menoperin.

I've been stared on metronidazole but at least it was after the party with a free bar!

Hope you get somewhere with Guys soon.

Sorry you are having such a long wait. Unfortunately I would view my nhs.net account as a personal account and be quite Hmm about receiving uninvited patient contact on it.

I would redirect you more kindly though Flowers
