To think that YouTube should not be allowing 'Vloggers' like these?

I have been subscribed to a few people on Youtube for a while now and I find watching a woman's pregnancy progress extremely interesting and lovely to watch (Undergoing a Midwifery course).

I've never really understood how the 'Vlogging' world works however it really irritates me when you find people asking for viewers to donate money to them.

For example; One of two pages asking you to set up a monthly payment schedule

In the link is a brief description about the 'Vloggers' and they ask for you to set up a monthly payment for them so they can 'produce amazing Vlogs and travel the world while taking you WITH them!'.

In one of their videos they said that they 'need your support big time, to go our website, there are ways that you can support us there. Anything from Patron to Paypal and Youtube is going to bring out a tip jar also'.

I think that it is wrong, Youtube pays them for uploading videos and the majority of their viewers will be younger people and they are asking for money from them.

They upload 3 videos a week, get paid and are asking their viewers to give them more money. They could get a job which would pay to support their family rather than asking people to 'fund there channel'.

I get annoyed at these sort of people because they are just money grabbers and are trying to con younger users into setting up a monthly payment so they can create 'amazing Vlogs'.

Sorry for the rant but I am shocked that Youtube allows this to happen!

Youtube doesn't pay vloggers! they can get paid through advertising or donations - that's all. It's a bit like subscribing to a magazine surely?

Yabu - people who pay are of course mugs, but they're not acting dishonestly.

youtube does pay some but not many.

Many are paid by companies others gain revenue from advertising or product placement.

YouTube doesn't pay them. Advertising does, and when they're well known, appearances, even paying for comments etc about products and brands and sometimes lines (like perfume) might pay, but it is hard to get into. It is a simple request for some money, where they might be a fashion adviser, instructor, comedian or singer, even, to enable them to keep on paying for vlogs which are sometimes helpful, entertaining, comforting and funny and are hard to produce, but also valuable for many people. What's wrong with that? You can pay or not pay. I don't watch vlogs but DD (a teen) does, she's a bit obsessed Grin but this is honest and is just like asking money as a busker, or something?

sorry clicked too soon.

paying for vlogs isnt bad - its a bit like sky except you can still watch if you dont pay

I don't think it's all that different to poets and their ilk getting patrons in ye olden days. I have to be honest, I admire their entrepreneurial spirit. I like the idea that someone can build a career based on personality and ideas, even if I find many of them irritating. Bloody well done to them!

Becoming a YouTube partner (therefore earning money from it) takes a lot of work...you have to have a certain (talking thousands and thousands) number of subscribers and video views and hit particular targets...it is a myth that you can just upload videos and make money
