to ask what the longest journey you have taken your DC on is?

We are due to visit relatives abroad next year.

It will involve a 3 hour car journey, 3 hours in the airport, 5 hour flight, 3 hour car trip and then a ferry and hour trip to finish.

I think this is too much in one day for a 2.5 year old. She is a very good traveller in the car but the furthest we have been is 4 hours and that's with a stop in the middle for a dinner and a leg stretch.

My DH is very blasé about it and just says it will be fine. I think she is too young for such a trek and would like to wait a year or too before we go, or until the shrieking tantrum stage has passed. Does it ever?

Am I being unreasonable? What's the furthest you have travelled with your DC and any tips to make it an 'easier' (haha) experience?

At 4 my mum took me:
1.5h car
1h flight
12 hour delay!
10 hour flight
Small drive
Small sea plane!
Small drive

Now that was a mission.

We nearly didn't get on that plane after the huge delay, they were sending people home but we were in another country by now, and she basically went all tiger mum and pushed her way to the front and said she was getting a space on that plane and they couldn't expect a 4 year old to sleep in the airport!

That was obvs pre iPad or anything as well. I don't remember it being a nightmare, but mum only had me to look after and she might have a different memory.

They CAN MOST DEFINITELY NOT manage a trip to the supermarket!

Dail I'm sorry did you say there was a Vet Shop game on the Toca Boca app???

I have been known to do a bit of hair styling while the DD sleeps....

I just checked, it's called Pet Doctor. I picked it because they loved the hairdressing one. We also have the Toca Tea party, Toca Tailor and Toca House (still not working for the Toca Firm!) but the apps seem to appeal to my boys. Toca Tea Party being the least favourite.

I do like the Pet shop one myself…
