I don't watch them either but in this specific case he is referring to Katie Hopkins latest project which was to deliberately gain 3.5 stone and lose it again to make fat people 'stop blaming everyone else for problems they can control.' She's said before, 'fat people need to look in the mirror, look at themselves, and realise it’s their fault.'

Terrier she could be in for a very tough time indeed if she develops gallstones. I know because it happened to me. I lost ten stone and the first gallstone attack came after id lost almost 4 stone.

She could and I'm sure that it's something she was warned about before she decided to deliberately put on weight to make some money and to fat shame people. I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone, even a professional troll like her.

Look....I know its KH we are talking about here but James comment feeds into the expectation that womens looks are the only important thing about us and we must look good for men at all times.

Its one reason why i dont watch these shows.

why.....KH has put her weight up for talking about by gaining shitlots of weight in an attempt to prove to the rest of us it can be done so i dont see any fault in his comment

KH is the one that brought weight into the issue, someone else pulling her up on that is fine imo. If he had said to Jo Brand or Miranda thingy or Katey Brand then yes it would be a sexist issue, but he didnt. He said it to someone who got fat to prove it is easy to be thin in order to fat shame the rest of us. Dont give it out if you cant take it back!

Mm. It is satisfying for someone to get a taste of their own medicine but I'm not sure I liked it. I'm no fan of KH and surprise myself a little when I say I found that clip pretty uncomfortable to watch. I should probably watch the whole thing before I form an opinion though.

Just watched it on youtube as cant get itv player. She's so horrible, the weight thing, so mean. All it will prove if she can gain and lose weight easily is that she probably has 'thin' genes. I'm a strong believer in genetics having the largest effect on propensity to get and remain fat. I can't remember the tv show but there was one a couple of years ago that demonstrated how people have very different levels of hunger and satiety points, which are genetically set. What reason does she have for doing her little experiment other than to be cruel and 'fat shame'?

And, disliking place names for children whilst having an India is bad enough but how can she judge the Tyler/Taylors of the playground (whichever she said) whilst having a Max of her own? Unless he's a Maximilian, in which case she's a pretentious twerp and ridiculous and hypocritical to shorten it to Max.

I hate her TV persona and hope for her DC's sake that she's different at home and that it is 'only' a media publicity personality.

As much as James is also a total tosser if we didn't know that from strictly we do from CBB, but it was aimed specifically at KH as she's the one who's made out fat people of both genders should just stop being fat.

It was more of a wouldn't it be hilarious if you know couldn't lose weight, and she's put on three stone very quickly as has been pointed out, regardless of the implication of women should look good. Which coming from James is probably what he meant. He does actually have a point it's not her natural weight, it would be good for her to loose it for health reasons!

I don't think James made the comment because of anything to do with her ridiculous quest to shame fatties. I think it was simply an easy insult.

It was a low one too, I doubt he would have made it against Jo Brand or similar, but I think he realised that KH is unpopular enough for him to get away with it.

gosh I've killed some threads in my time but does no one else agree that Katie's position on this is hideous? Mumsnet has been extraordinarily quiet on #FindAlice but this is really surprising me now
