To change my 20 month old Ds' name?

He's recently had all his teeth on the too row removed except for his two canines.

His name starts with a 'sh' sound and he's likey to have quite a bad lisp and need speech therapy. It seems like a good idea right now to just officially change his name and avoid him not being able to say it. It's hard enough have a speech problem I think without struggling to say your own name.

He knows his name and responds to it, it's a lovely name and it suits him. And I haven't thought of an alternative name yet either. His middle name is no good for the same reasons as his first name.

You don't use your front teeth to make a 'sh' sound, so it should only be the final 's' sound that is a problem? You could call him Séimí if you don't like Shay.

I always had problems saying my name as a child, as I couldn't say Rs properly, and my name is very similar to a more common name. I spent my childhood saying "Name N A M E". At about 16, I got the hang of my Rs, and haven't really thought about it since...

I wouldn't change his name...

I wouldn't I have a four year old with autism it took a while for him to respond to,his name and he is non verbal if you son does have autism and or global development delay it is likely to confuse him even more.
