Without being split into two rooms!! Me, DH, DCs (10, 8, 2, 1) - looking to go somewhere like menorca or algarve. I want an all inclusive hotel so the kids can fill their boots and i don't have to cook or wash up. Any suggestions very welcome..... !

Same here, think first choice was good.

I know its old fashioned but have you tried popping into a travel agent? They will do the leg work for you..

Yep. You are not a standard family. Neither are we! Have you tried for 2 interconnecting rooms? Standard " kit build" boxy hotels just gave the same size rooms and generally these take 2 beds and a put you up.

Majorca, Bellevue apartments, book through cosmos and they take Tesco vouchers. Lovely beaches, but a bit low rent (think butlins abroad).

There are a lot of place that do two doubles in a room and then you could get a travel cot. What's wrong with connecting rooms and leaving the door open?

What's your budget? When do you want to go? I recently spent hours researching a super cheap AI holiday for OH and me, and got a great deal, happy to share the love!

I'd recommend:
www.broadwaytravel.com/
and
www.alpharooms.com/
www.trivago.co.uk/

Definitely look into how much the flights are separately (skyscanner for this) and then check alpharooms and trivago for cheap hotel deals to put them together with - you can just add the transfers on at this stage, so not really any more hassle.

Also, use tripadvisor to check the ratings on the hotels that pop up, always need to be taken with a grain of salt, but really useful.

We had a Thomson one earlier this summer for 5 of us and have done one with 7 of us. The one this year we were going to be in two rooms - surely most people would prefer two rooms to one? When we arrived they upgraded us to a lovely villa in the grounds with two floors and 3 rooms. We were very lucky.

Also we have often found 2 rooms can be cheaper than one large suite with a huge supplement for extra people so don't assume having more rooms always means the price goes up.

We've just come back from Menorca. We booked through First Choice and stayed at the Mar de Menorca in a 2-bed apartment (five of us). There were 6 beds - two in each bedroom and two sofa beds in lounge area) so I would imagine you can book for six in one room.

The hotel was 3-star all inclusive. Great adult/older children pool, and a kids pool with small slides. 10 mins walk to a beach - very small beach, but able to swim in clear blue sea.

Food was good quality and varied. It is buffet style for all meals. Ice creams/pastries/drinks all inclusive all day.

2-bed room was plenty big enough for us (3 adults, two pre-schoolers). I would imagine you'd be fine with 2 adults and 4 under ten. Six adults would be a squeeze! No bath though, just a shower.

There was pool side entertainment during the day that the 10 and 8 year olds would enjoy, and a kids disco in the evening that your 2 year old would enjoy (plus face painting!). There was also a kids games room with ping pong and some (need to pay for) ride on things (racing bikes etc). There's also a toddler room with organised activities for an hour per day with a member of staff, but you can take your kids in there yourself during the day too.

15 min bus ride to capital town, Mahon. We went for a morning and walked a bit then went on a road train thing that toured the town stopping for 10 mins or so at interesting places. You can also do things like a glass bottomed boat from Mahon.

All in all, a relaxed low-key holiday. Not a great deal to do except swim in sea/pool and take part in the activities if you fancy, but enough to occupy young-ish children for up to 2 weeks. Weather was great too (early to mid September) and I would imagine would be good into October :)

Hope you find something :)

We stayed in a hotel called parque Cristobal in Tenerife where you stay in 2 bedroom bungalows and have a lounge with sofa bed too. Facilities were good and so was the price.
We lacked the requisite tattoos but had a good holiday.
