To insist my dentist to put my front teeth back as they were?

When I had my braces fitted 13 weeks ago, my top two front teeth were the only straight ones in my head. One of them has now been twisted to such an angle that the dentist has recommended I pay to have the angled bottom built back up because it looks like I have lost a big chip out of it. I haven't, it was perfectly horizontal, now it's like the leaning tower of teetha. I also have a gap between my two front teeth, which I never used to have, and I feel more self conscious about how they look now than I did before I had the braces. I'm also in screaming agony.

So, AIBU, or should I trust that in the long run he knows what he is doing?

I agree with Mrsm more rotation will occur, and dialogue good!

Oh but Mrsmorton, this isn't just pain, this is M&S platinum-plated, white-hot, hand-picked pain fresh from the salt mines of kashbanglazonia Grin Seriously, to put it into context I miscarried last week and the paracetamol, ibuprofen and hospital grade codeine that I was on took the pain of that away completely. The teeth, however, it only took the edge off. Seeing me still in tears with it, the dr asked if the pain was on one side and I had to admit that no, actually it was in my mouth Blush sorry, I don't mean to trivialise. Humour is my crutch at the moment.

It's taken me aback because I thought I had gone into this with my eyes wide open - read very widely on the internet people's accounts, spoke to my dentist and orthodontist. Everyone was of the opinion that a few days of soreness and discomfort, which could be eased with paracetamol, was the norm (and the same again after each tightening).

ps Willaby - thank you for getting your colleague to look over the pictures, I'm very grateful.

Ask your dentist to refer you to an orthodontist for an opinion..

Geek just saw this in active convos and wanted to add my ((()))).

P.s I think you are entirely justified in your concerns and I hope you get it sorted soon, and your orthodontist listens to you.

I've recently had braces put on and my 2nd front tooth was previously straight and my wonky front bunny tooth has pushed it out so it sticks out. I'm hoping it'll get straight again once they all move back?

I also had terrible pain in first couple of weeks (especially when braces first put on and teeth removal holes weren't properly healed) and I was also told to take paracetamol and I must have a low pain threshold. I just don't think they understand that it hurts some people more than others. I also had braces years ago and it didn't hurt that much. I took codeine and ibuprofen and it made it bearable. Teeth are still wobbly and sore if I bite but not constant. Not an expert by any means but maybe he's moving them too fast? Maybe because he's got a deadline? I'd definitely talk through concerns.

Also sorry about mc Thanks
