Sickening?

Don't be ridiculous

Thebodyloveschocolateandwine · 10/09/2014 12:45

To be quite honest the only thing I have learned from that show is that however revolting you are as a person and however revolting you look, dirty, greasy hair. Foul mouthed, drug addict/alcoholic someone is always willing to shag you.

Quite sweet really.

cheerears · 10/09/2014 12:57

Once I start watching I can't stop. I feel awful watching but I can't stop.

Having said that, I do think they do some good work with addictions or seem to anyway. If someone seems to genuinely want to change then I think they do offer support.

Sometimes I wonder though how people go back to their lives afterwards - ones with lie detector results etc. It must split families up entirely. Although I suppose if the lie detector says yes sister has been stealing from you then you could argue it's a good thing the family splits.

backbystealth · 10/09/2014 12:57

So OP are you more offended by the woman who's had sex with multiple partners in a week...or by Jeremy Kyle goading, heckling, winding up, insulting, manipulating, ridiculing and humiliating his guests (most of whom seem vulnerable to say the least)?

LiberalLibertines · 10/09/2014 13:04

It was awful,I don't normally watch it (dd has just started nursery)

I know she went there to find out who the father was, fully paid for, but what a price she paid.

Jk is an utter cunt.

basgetti · 10/09/2014 13:10

Exactly.

jonicomelately · 10/09/2014 13:20

I didn't see JK this morning but I have watched it in the past and been Shock that the presenter gets away with so much. For example he harangued a man and woman for not using contraception. Fancy being the child who grows up knowing JK state on television they should never have been born.
What really gets me riled though are the DNA tests. How is somebody's paternity public entertainment . These children will grow up knowing that their parentage was once discussed as TV entertainment. The Human Rights Act gives everybody the right to privacy but this obviously doesn't extent to working-class children. I hope somebody challenges them about this one day.

Pheonixisrising · 10/09/2014 13:29

jonicomelately I have been thinking the same for years

basgetti · 10/09/2014 14:10

The MP Kerry McCarthy tried to get DNA testing of children on the show stopped but she didn't get very far. I agree it's one of the many things wrong with this show.

daphnehoneybutt · 10/09/2014 14:22

To me the all time low was when a mother made a her son do a lie detector - accusing him of stealing her dildo.

He hadn't, btw.

jonicomelately · 10/09/2014 14:56

I'm so pleased other people agree with me. Sometimes I think it's just me who gets pisses off about these things!
I would really love to start a campaign against exploiting children for entertainment purposes.

Writerwannabe83 · 10/09/2014 14:58

I watched an episode once where a woman came on for DNA results and with her she bought the 7 potential fathers Shock

The crazy thing though is that none of them were the child's father and the woman admitted that actually there were another two potential dads!!

Rebecca2014 · 10/09/2014 15:04

There was an episode yesterday where Jeremy kept mentioning how a woman was 15 years old than her boyfriend and he was a toy boy. The man had cheated on the woman several times yet Jeremy seemed to take the man side because he was young and she just put up with it. I feel the older Jeremy gets, the more outdated his views are.

Littlefluffyclouds81 · 10/09/2014 15:10

It's like having the daily fail on the telly. Human bear baiting, making scape goats and ridiculing people who are generally from the poorest sections of society, whilst the real villains of our country are never held accountable for their actions.

I'd like to see a JK Tory MP special.

IPityThePontipines · 10/09/2014 15:11

Daphne Shock that someone would see that as fit to air on TV.

Jeremy Kyle is awful, like a modern day freak show

maggiesmealymouth · 10/09/2014 15:21

The thing that amazes me most about this programme is when you get some scrawny, weasly, ferrety bloke with bad skin and teeth that has numerous women fighting over him.
Why?

maggiesmealymouth · 10/09/2014 15:25

Thebodyloveschocolate, you have just answered my question!

Boomerwang · 10/09/2014 15:27

Brilliant quote!

aurorablues · 11/09/2014 10:27

I'n surprised you all believe this is real.

jonicomelately · 11/09/2014 12:47

Define 'real' Aurora Are you saying they are actors and scripted?

thetoysarealiveitellthee · 11/09/2014 13:31

I love Jeremy Kyle, hes my dirty little fantasy Blush

And living where I do I can hand on heart say that I 100% believe its real, there are many a person in my 'hood that wouldn't be out of place on that show......sadly.....

GatoradeMeBitch · 11/09/2014 15:12

The funny thing is that if Jeremy Kyle was able to be a guest on his own show, he would have to rip himself apart. A divorce, a gambling addiction, a wife he met when she married a stranger to win a competition, weird fixations like licking telephone receivers... He has no right to set himself up as a judge of morality.
