I have 3 DC . We have a games console, with 3 games. Fifa, Skylanders and -of course- minecraft. So getting on for £600 worth of stuff. To plplayau any of these games takes a bit of time. X3 so they all get a good go. We never have time! But all their fruefriendsnds play - so how have they got time?

I go on the trampoline myself sometimes, just to keep the bounce going :(

We have an Xbox 360 which DP plays on almost every day even if it is just a quick game on fifa. I also use the Xbox during the day to watch Netflix whilst breastfeeding. We also bought a Nintendo wii last week with the wii fit and both DP and I have been using the wii fit every evening so far. We only paid £40 for the wii and all its games/accessories too.
Neither of our consoles have been a waste of money as they are both used every day and have both probably paid for themselves already

Stealth boasting much?

And not very social? My work has regular game nights to play console games. Not sure what the youngligns will do when they are older. But for the 30 something's it's something that everyone seems to do.

My dh is the biggest console player in our house, and a retro-gaming collector so we have 'wasted' a significant amount of money on gaming stuff. ds only really plays on the PC now, lots of strategy games with friends from around the world. Some of which are really interesting and mind stretching (he is playing one which is full of ethical dilemmas right now - leads to interesting conversations about diplomacy and political ideologies).

We currently have: a Megadrive, Genesis, Mega CD, Master system, Saturn, and I think two Dreamcasts (UK/US), two Playstation 2s (UK and US), Playstation 3 and 4, X-Box and xBox 360, Wii and Wii U. Plus a variety of handhelds. They were mostly bought second hand and all get played fairly regularly. We have pretty much a wall of games.

I get into a few games but mostly read lots of books :) Of course that is considered to be a much more socially acceptable hobby although it is equally (or more) anti-social. Value for money wise, I tend to compare with other entertainment options. A good game should give 20 hours or so play, and the best might gave 100 (I have played 300 hours on Monster Hunter!) that's a pretty good 40 bucks to me.

Mine don't use the Xbox either. .. We are far too busy jumping in muddy puddle.
