Dog peeing in sandpit

That's it... Nice clean sand pit, family of five (baby through to school age) playing in it, their large dog running in and out. No attempt to stop it, then it pees in the sand next to one of the diggers. Not a word from any of the family. Aibu in thinking this is out if order or am I being uptight? Couldn't believe they thought it was ok to even let the dog in the sand, but no-one seemed to object.

Assuming its a public sandpit, they ABU to have their dog in it, same as dogs shouldn't be in any children's play parks. If they didn't look to scary I would have asked them to remove the dog.

Agreed - but... at the same time, it is certainly not the first animal to have peed in the sandpit, and you are lucky if that is all that has happened in there...

Sand pits are pretty rank places anyway if you think about it. I remember one sports day waiting for the caretaker to scoop all the cat and fox poo out of ours before we could start the long jump!

So YANBU to think its gross. I don't think they should have had their dog near it at all tbh. But, it's probably best just not to think too much about what's lurking in a sandpit and make sure you wash your hands when you get home!

Yanbu to be pissed off that their dog wasn't under control. But yabu to forget about all the animals that have piss pooed and vomited in the sand put and just be angry at a dog.
