It's a friday night....

Candycrushblahblah · 06/09/2014 02:49

Are they in the flat below/above you? Also do you know them and have their phone number? You poor thing I have been in you shoes a few times :(

DancingDinosaur · 06/09/2014 02:52

Thats shite. Do you feel able to go and have a word with them?

lupo5 · 06/09/2014 03:00

Thank you Candycrush. It's really hard.I don't confront people and like now I am just slowly going mad......
Ibizatime,yes it's friday but also it's nearly 3am?????you really thinkit's acceptable?
I wouldn't dare to talk to them. They drink and chew that grass (the one they forbid-don't know name).Building is beautiful-10 flats, renting from private landlord. Downstairs ,ground flor there are two studios and maybe 10 of them live together. None of them is working, making this whole place dirty and on top of that they are really bad ,lazy group of people .....I don't understand why ALL of them are not going to work???Why government is letting this people to literally destroy beautiful country??
I am really having a rant...Very angry and tired.....Girls are asleep---That's the only good positive thing.....

Ibiza - Doesn't matter what day of the week or time of day it is. If makes another home shake it's too loud, and unfair. Simple. Not everybody goes into crazy weekend mode on a friday night.

Op - just ask them to quieten down, it isn't fair!

lupo5 · 06/09/2014 03:04

DD, I wouldn't dare to go. They are not sort of people whom you can talk to.I am waiting for landlord on Sunday to come...
We have letters opened,my DD Zip card letter being opened and card pushed aside...million things....And this music is going on the whole summer at least once a week but tonight they went extra mile (as I mentioned) and they are using microphone...I wish you could hear this...

Music they are listening is with drums and in their language (Somali language-not sure if I can mentioned?) I am Croatian and I would never ever dream to make other peoples lives miserable especially at this time.My pregnancy is not helpingThey are screaming -I guess they are really without care....

Is there another neighbour who you can ask for help? Otherwise if it's still going on, call 999. You won't be the only one affected by them.

Candycrushblahblah · 06/09/2014 03:21

Khat is what they are chewing. If they have had a lot it might make them insensible anyway. You could call 101 and get your PCSO's round. If it is really bad and they are not quietening down soon you are within your rights. Then you need to try and complain to the landlords next week. The Council should have an environmental Health officer who could also help advise next week if this is a regular event. The only reason I asked if you had their number to call as it saves you, a lone woman going around there . I had neighbours (in the flat above) trust fund brats. Who lived a life of leisure and would fire up Lionel Ritchie every night at 1:00 am. Every night was "Party Night" for these fuckers. I used to phone them a few times after they retired at about 7:00 am just to keep waking them up. Small consolation for the misery they inflicted....

ColdCottage · 06/09/2014 03:30

Agree. Call 101 and report them. Noise pollution is against the law.

ColdCottage · 06/09/2014 03:30

As it anti social behaviour which this is.

lupo5 · 06/09/2014 03:33

You made me smile Candycrush. I wish I had a phone number to ring them through out the day but hey,i have two pre-teen DD whom I could tell to make noise when we will be going out tomorrow.
I feel bad to call 999-surely they have more important situations than me.I called PS and they gave me number (council no) to phone them tomorrow.
I am really so tired.
One of the lovely neighbours (they have 2yr old) two weeks ago asked them to put music down. They actually attacked him verbally. He just left it.You can't communicate with them.
Maybe if they they would be sent to work, they wouldn't have energy for all this...I will try to close my eyes--I honestly can't believe that they are doing this.
I recorded on my mob the noise........

Just browsed the net,it's very common music and noisy neighbours. I feel sorry for people who have newborn or who are in need of quietness because of health problems and yiu have this mad people next to you...

whattodoforthebest2 · 06/09/2014 03:40

Yes the police do have important things to deal with, but if these people are being a nuisance and are abusive when spoken to, then I think 999 is justified. Maybe a police officer knocking on the door is just what they need right now.

Candycrushblahblah · 06/09/2014 03:40

Yes that is good you are recording it. You may be asked to keep a diary, it is an uphill battle but eventually someone will be forced to act. They will most likely be evicted if they don't mend their ways then they pack up and inflict their misery on some other poor sod. Look on the council website for the Environmental Health officers they are usually fairly robust in calling people back ( well ours are anyway) . You do not have to put up with this if they are not to be reasoned with. Hang on in there Lupo :)

HeyMicky · 06/09/2014 05:09

Hope it's stopped now, OP. Calling environmental health can have an effect on sale value later, as it turns up on a search. So I would definitely make the landlord your first port of call. Phrase it along the lines of "don't want to call environmental health because I know it can affect the value of the property [innocent face] so hoping you can do something first"

Redglitter · 06/09/2014 08:58

a noise complaint doesn't by any stretch of the imagination warrant a 999 call. You would be totally justified in calling 101. You'd be well within your right calling them as 'early' as 1 am if the noise is bad

lupo5 · 06/09/2014 09:27

Good morning.....Thank you so much.I went to sleep they were still playing the music.I am so sleepy and tired and thank you for advice.I will definitely be speaking to LL on Sunday....Brew

Call your council and also call 101. Two studio flats and 10 people? That is not a legal level of occupation. You can also call your local council and ask to speak to the appropriate person on the housing team. Are you in London? Many councils have teams who specifically tasked to sort out this sort of illegal occupancy. There have been cases where who families have been rented a she'd in a garden by unscrupulous landlords. Not saying that yours is but it doesn't sound safe for any of the Tennants in the house.

NynaevesSister · 06/09/2014 10:53

Ha ha auto correct. Obv I type David Tennant more than I realise. That should be tenants - not implying that this is a house full of Timelords :)

PrettyPictures92 · 06/09/2014 14:25

Just wanted to quietly point out that not all folk who don't work are bad Sad

But aside from that, yes they sound a nightmare and I really hope you manage to get this sorted, it sounds horrible. Hope you get some decent sleep tonight Thanks

Pipbin · 06/09/2014 15:18

Noisy neighbours can give you so much stress.
I think the 'it's Friday night....' comment is totally unjustified. Loud music is not on whatever time of the day or night.

When I had a problem with this I called the environmental health officers at my council. 101 wouldn't have anything to do with it as it was during the day, not at night.

Does the whole building have the same landlord as your flat?
I'm sure it is not just you that they are upsetting. Is it worth putting notes through the door of your other neighbours to see if you can join forces?

AnyoneForTARDIS · 06/09/2014 17:23

Law- no loud music afet 11pm- ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

phone 101 AND noise people AND env health.

Candycrushblahblah · 06/09/2014 17:49

HeyMicky is that true it affects resale we have called a few times Builders burning plastic in garden 2 doors down and builders the other side 7:00AAm bank hols. How long does it stay on record? Lupo good luck xx

Pipbin · 06/09/2014 18:14

Candy You have to declare it when you sell. That is why we didn't do anything about our neighbour at our old house as we were trying to sell at the same time.
