I remembered it was in the pantry today and have been drooling about it. I'm not going to share with dcs, it's all mine. Will it kill me?

I would

SauvignonBlanche · 05/09/2014 19:08

I would too.

pootlebug · 05/09/2014 19:09

It'll be fine. I would.

Holfin · 05/09/2014 19:09

I would eat it no problem

NellysKnickers · 05/09/2014 19:11

I'm going to. Now. If I'm not back in an hour, it's done me in.

It won't be the pudding that does you in, it'll be the pint of brandy that you flame it with

HippyPottyMouth · 05/09/2014 19:16

It'll be fine. I've eaten them much older than that. They last YEARS!

NellysKnickers · 05/09/2014 19:21

It's lovely. It serves 8 and I'm now tucking into half of it. I'm so happy.

I've got half a tub of brandy butter still in the fridge from last Christmas Blush

Now THAT would probably be inadvisable, but pudding? Knock yourself out.

Catsmamma · 05/09/2014 19:40

I wouldn't.....

I'd keep it for christmas! It''l be even nicer then! I have two, one bought post christmas 2012.
...in fact I might eat one this weekend :o

Salivating over my keyboard . . . custard and brandy with it?

jeanmiguelfangio · 05/09/2014 20:16

My dad swears that if they arent a couple of years past date they aren't mature enough. All That alcohol in it must help preserve it

NellysKnickers · 05/09/2014 20:17

I had it with Ice cream Andrew. Normally I prefer brandy butter or cream but I had to make do. Now considering troughing the rest of it but will probably save it for breakfast Grin

Marmiteandjamislush · 05/09/2014 20:19

Save it til tomorrow and fry and eat with soft eggs for breakfast. My dad has that every Boxing day.

FrancesNiadova · 05/09/2014 20:39

Best Before & Use By are 2 separate things.
Best Before means just that, the product is best before x date, but can be eaten afterwards.
Use By means eat by x. date otherwise it could make you ill.

I love Xmas pud & I'd tuck in! Grin

Madeyemoodysmum · 05/09/2014 21:33

I just ate some scones from a 2012 packet mix two days later I'm fine.
They didn't rise though funny?

Squeakyheart · 05/09/2014 21:37

Wow only today I found one for March 2014 in the cupboard honestly I do clear it out it was hidden! and was wondering the same thing Grin

halfdrunkcoffee · 05/09/2014 21:39

I think you'll be fine. I'm sure I've eaten food older than that! It will be cooked in the oven as well won't it?

bensam · 05/09/2014 21:40

It'll be fine. My mum still has an Xmas pud which her mother bought circa 1969 (not sure that will still be okay to eat) :)
