To want a pair of normal bloody jeans without having to pay a fortune?!

I don't want:-

Skinny jeans
High waisted jeans
Ripped jeans
Boyfriend jeans
Low slung jeans

I just want a normal pair of bootcut jeans where the waistband sits above the crack of my arse without having to pay a bloody fortune for them.

I get mine from Sainsburys. Though I do miss the lower waisted ones they used to do. I find the high waist bands sit uncomfortably.
But Sainsburys jeans last ages and are good quality, never paid more than £16.

I got Sind good pairs from Dorothy Perkins and new look. I am a size 16, really tall (34" inside leg) and find a lot of jeans are too low waisted for me.

Sad to think that bootcut jeans are mumsy now :( Though it's fair enough, since I am a mum and have been wearing them for the last 20 years!

I look awful in straight leg jeans as my legs are quite short and I'm a bit pear shaped. Bootcut balance me out nicely and make my legs look slimmer. I agree about them not being too short though- it is really obvious with that cut. I loved kick flare jeans back when those existed, they were really flattering to my shape as well.

And I think 'normal' jeans just means ones that are not high fashion, easily dated ones, like jeggings or ones with diamante butterflies on in this context.

I second Dorothy Perkins, sainsburys and matalan as places where you can get decent jeans without paying a fortune. I buy skinny flares if I can get them (current pair was in the Boden sale - could I be any more MN?!) but OP, just try and few pairs on in different cuts and rises and get what you like and feel most comfortable in, don't worry about whether they are bang on trend or not!

Sainsburys is the place to go.

I'm putting in another vote for Next, like boot cuts and I'm 5'2"

I would actually spend a bit more and get a really good pair like Levi's. Mine last years and our local Levi's suggest if they were too long for you to use a nearby tailors to get them perfect. They give you a % off so that covers the adjustments.

I like boot cut, I wear them over boots mostly and couldn't give a shiny shit if they are 'unfashionable'.

New Look do amazing mid-rise bootcut jeans.

Thanks I had a look at most of the suggestions and managed to order three pairs.

Next question - any ideas for some decent shorts that don't end immediately below your arse cheek? Wink

Asda had some in.

Jeans on a budget - Uniqlo are incredible, and EBay are worth a look.
Shorts - both of the above suggestions. Smile

Gap jeans are great

There have many different styles for all shapes you may like the long and lean they are bootcut and very flattering

They last ages and they always seem to have a sale

gordyslovesheep · 02/09/2014 08:22

I got some straight legged ones in Sainsbury's that make my arse look ace! I can't do boot leg but hate skinnies - boyfriend are ok but they fall down a lot!
