What will happen if I step on a varnished floor while it's slightly tacky?

I have literally painted myself into a corner.

I have been on this armchair for hours.

I'm stiff and dehydrated and twitchy now.

The varnish should have been dry by now. It's not Sad

If I just walk across it (big strides on tip toe), can I patch up the damage tomorrow?

The damage isn't too bad (in surface area terms anyway). It seems I have very odd shaped toes, though.

It was the third coat in two days stratters but i'd closed the doors on the previous coats for eight hours plus at a time and not really noticed drying time. I do hope not all three coats will have to be sanded back

I wish i'd seen trixy's suggestion first. Clever Smile

In fact the answer is so simple that you'll kick yourself. What the professionals do is plunge each foot into the varnish pot, or carefully pour the contents equally over each foot.
Then, (not forgetting the paint pot, brushes, empty crisp packets, mobile phone, soiled underwear etc), and gracefully state out, thus adding a coat to the floor. Given enough varnish you can do a Torvill and Dean and go for Bolero inspired points for artistic impression.
If you are wise you will a) use your smart phone to shoot a prime "selfie" movie for YouTube, where you are bound to score 1,000,000,000 hits plus, and make enough money to pay for a chiropodist and white spirit, and B) "Get off the Ice" before you find yourself firmly stuck in another corner.
The final trick is not to kick yourself at that point as you could well find your foot stuck firmly to your bum.
