Buy a bloody small bra!! These days I am probably sporting a 32/34aa (at a stretch) and I JUST want to find a bra that gives some oomph but doesn't gape. All the 'names' yes Ultimo and wonderbra I am looking at you don't go small enough and I don't want to resort to a boob job.

There are a few online retailers but I want to go into a shop Shock and be properly fitted and feel womanly for once in my god damn life!!! I don't care what it costs, anything is better than implants, but where to go?? And please don't say M&S they are a crock of shite too Sad

I went from a 34b to a 32DD thanks to the bra intervention thread, my boobs look so much better.

MrsBoldon · 28/08/2014 21:01

Really? My boobs do look similar to that picture. Well I never!.

My friend has been telling me for ages I'm wearing the wrong size. My boobs look nice when I'm not wearing anything but always look rubbish in bras.

I'm still a teensy bit sceptical but it won't hurt to try some on. I'm quite excited!.

HazleNutt · 28/08/2014 21:05

bailey, same question, sure about your size? Being a 34AA means that your under bust and over bust measurements are both exactly the same, not even an inch there. It's quite rare.

Stuckonthebaby · 28/08/2014 21:26

So I went out and bought a soft tape measure (hurrah no more metal whips marks!) I measure 28 under bust (snug) and about 31.5 over. So I guess a 28 b/c or 30a. But I don't get how as often a 32 is too tight?!

OP posts:
HazleNutt · 28/08/2014 21:33

I would try 28D. that's about the same cup size as 32B - that's why 32AA feels tight, the cups are too small.

Stuckonthebaby · 28/08/2014 21:43

But that's just it the cups generally gape it's the back where it feels tight?

Bailey101 · 28/08/2014 21:46

Hazlenutt, yes I'm sure. And yes I realise it's unusual and makes me a bit of a freak, but it is what it is. Having spent my entire adult life wearing underwear purely for the padding, I'm well aware how weird my body is and I don't need to be told.

EarSlaps · 28/08/2014 21:48

I'm a 29 inch back (size 8-10), a 28DD or 30D roughly but very small boobs really. Thought I was a 34A/B for years but look so much better now, just struggle to get bras to fit.

Calvin Klein do 30 back in house of Fraser and come up small so may be worth a try.

bonzo77 · 28/08/2014 21:52

The back probably feels tight because it's a) too loose, riding up and cutting in, and b) only has one clip, is thin and cutting like cheese wire. Cups gape when they are the wrong shape. The actual cup you are wearing is the same volume as if you went down a back size and up a cup size, so the physical volume they can covers in might be ok, but their shape distorted by the back riding up.

I'm a 30E. M&S had me as a 34D. Honestly, I don't look big. There's enough, but I'm hardly Jordan. Probably pretty average.

HazleNutt · 28/08/2014 21:56

sorry Bailey I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Only wondering because many women have discovered on MN they need a different size. I'm sure there are still plenty of AA-cups around.

WaywardOn3 · 28/08/2014 22:16

I measured myself as a 36C but went to a proffecional bra fitter (not one from the big chains) and she measured me as a 34E :-)

Would always go to a good bra fitted now over trying to measure myself

ClimbingPenguin · 28/08/2014 22:20

I am a size 8, measurements suggest 32C but when I tried some in they felt horrible but found some 34B's that felt good. However only in one particular style.

marriednotdead · 28/08/2014 22:34

A word or two if I may.

Generally speaking, I find that if you find bras in your 'proper' band size much too tight, it may be a wire/cup shape issue. If your breast tissue is spread flatter and/or wider across your chest, then chances are that bras that don't suit your shape will dig in at the sides and/or centre, and feel very restrictive. They may also gape at the front, which will then make you think that the cup is too big.

For extreme examples, I will cite this Panache bra vs this Freya bra
Although they both appear to fit me, with my boob shape I find the Panache bra agony, and the Freya one like old slippers Smile

Thisvehicleisreversing · 29/08/2014 00:21

I've just tried measuring from that link. I'm measuring as a 32FF ShockConfused

I've been wearing 34D for ages but have recently put on weight so was expecting to try 34DD or 36D

Could I really be a 32FF? Seems crazy.
