To have 2 cats in a flat?

I think I might be but my circumstances are pretty dire.

Had a baby in June. I'm alone and have no family. But complex circumstances mean I'm in a small flat with my 2 cats who I had before I moved I to the flat. It's awful! They keep peeing everywhere and they obviously have litter trays but don't use them. I'm paranoid it's smelly and I can't afford to replace carpets yet (I will do as soon as I can.)

I guess I am bu but does anybody have any advice please? :-(

Can I recommend you take him to vets initially to get checked out - it should be first port of call when a cat is soiling house as this can be sign of illness.
Meanwhile you look at reasons for it - too few litter trays, litter trays not private, multiple cat household stress, stress from cats outside, change in household (eg new baby). Many reasons as to why cats may soil house but I would always check he is healthy first. Good luck OP

It could be the baby actually. I remember my mum telling me that when I was born her cat went nuts weeing on everything. If you Google it it's a recognised thing, it can come from stress, jealousy or the desire to mark the crap out of the territory since a new thing is in it. But yy to taking to vets.

I would guess that not only are they stressed at being inside but you also have a baby! They may be doing a 'protest'.
