Neighbours have kidnapped my mooncup! (lighthearted, obviously)

Last week I came home to a Hermes delivery ticket for my new mooncup (Grin) which said that a house about 7 doors down and across the road had taken it in. I don't know them, but how kind of them to take it in.

Since then, either DH or I have popped over every day at different times (none before 10am or after 8pm) to collect it. Despite (at various times) the TV being on, lights on etc, there is no answer!

I'm pretty sure they haven't popped round either as we were home a lot over the weekend.

I'm due to come on tomorrow so I need it and I'm baffled!

AIBU to think they have clearly opened it, discovered the joy of the mooncup and intend to keep it forever?! Wink

MUCH less icky than a tampon. And (for me) shorter periods.

steff13 · 28/08/2014 03:08

I don't use a Mooncup, but I have a Diva Cup and a Lunette. I love them so much more than traditional menstrual products. They've helped with my cramping, and made my period so much cleaner. I'll never go back.

Maybe the neighbours are away on holiday and have one of those gismos that randomly turns lights and the TV on for security purposes?

Oldraver · 28/08/2014 13:42

I reckon they opened it thinking it would be treasure and found the Mooncup and are way too embarrassed to hand it back

Lifesalemon · 29/08/2014 00:02

They are maybe trying it out and will return it if they don't like it Shock if you eventually get it back OP make sure you inspect it for any signs of wear and tear!

Eighteen year old dts use jam sponges. No TSS and only need renewing about once a year. About a tenner for two.

Love the 'light hardness obviously' alert in the title!
There is nothing light hearted about MN!

flipchart · 29/08/2014 00:43

Just read through the posts!
See what I mean. There is nothing at all light hearted ness about mooncups when it comes to MN.

Some love, some loath and some are quite clueless about them.

CabinetSauvinyoni · 29/08/2014 22:55

Mooncups are wondrous things!

OP, even though you'd be totally within your rights to raise all sorts of hell for this (especially if you're caught Mooncup-less) maybe you can try to be glad that you have clearly revolutionised someone lucky lady's life? even if they did steal it from you the swines

I use a mc . Love it but need a bigger version for the heavy day - tank size tbh.
Dd 15 can't get her mc in , anyone any recommendation for teenagers?

RaspberryRuffle · 29/08/2014 23:33

German I should think if your neighbours don't answer (ever) then you might have to ask the delivery company to replace it?

Walton you can buy softcup in Boots, they are essentially a disposable (12 hour use) version of a menstrual cup.
They look big but squeeze down thin, there are 8 in a box so I sometimes use them on hols and keep one in my handbag, much as I used to keep an emergency towel or tampon.
Also there are different brands, Mooncup is one, Meluna has diffeent softness and sizes (and colours etc). There may be some aimed at teenagers?
